Specific Purpose: After hearing my speech, my audience will know more about the ASEANs ten nation integration by 2015. Thesis: One ASEAN is the regional cooperation in Southeast Asia in the spirit of equality and partnership and thereby contributes towards peace, progress and prosperity in the region. I. Introduction A. Attention Getter: ASEAN covers a land area of approximately 447 million hectares, which is 3% of the total land area of Earth, and has a population of approximately 600 million people, which is the 8% of the worlds population. B. One ASEAN is the regional cooperation in Southeast Asia in the spirit of equality and partnership and thereby contributes towards peace, progress and prosperity in the region. C. Focus on Thesis: According to Ong Keng Yong, the former Secretary-General of ASEAN, One ASEAN is a cohesive ASEAN Community with one vision and one identity. D. Connect to Audience: As a Filipino teenager, do you ever hear or knew about ASEAN Citizenship? If yes, do you feel that youre a citizen of ASEAN and this citizenship is beneficial to our nation?
