Everest Base Camp Trek is arguably the most well known challenging mountain trek in Khumbu region in Nepal and has been a very popular destination for trekkers since the very first expeditions to the Nepalese side of Everest in the 1953. It is famous for its spectacular mountain peaks and the loyalty and friendliness of its inhabitants (the Sherpa), the Everest region (Khumbu) is one of the most popular destinations for tourists in Nepal. The main attraction of this trek is Mt. Everest which is the highest peak of the planet. The Tibetan name of Mt. Everest is Qomolangma and Nepalese name is Sagarmatha. Everest region (Khumbu) that contain five of the worlds highest Himalaya Mt. Everest (8,848m), Mt, Makalu (8,463m), Mt, Cho Oyu (8153m), Mt. Lhotse (8,501m) and Mt. Lhotse Shar (8,393m). DETAILED ITINERARY Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, our Fishtail representative and driver meet you at the Tribhuvan International Airport and escort you to your designed hotel. The representative will help you check into your hotel. At the hotel, you will be briefed about your daily activities. Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu Kathmandu is the historical and cultural heart of Nepal and has been a popular destination for tourists ever since Nepal opened its doors to visitors. The Kathmandu valley offers you a wonderful mix of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism and Western influence. In the morning after having breakfast, you will be guided to visit famous and biggest Hindus Pashupatinath temple, Buddha stupa, Swoyambhunath and in the afternoon having lunch you will visit Kathmandu durbar square and Patan durbar square. Day 03: Flight to Lukla & trek to Phakding This day after having breakfast, you have a flight to Lukla and a landing on a steep mountain runway brings us to the start of your trek at the village of Lukla [2850m]. When you are in aircraft you can enjoy by seeing the panoramic sights of great Himalayas of Nepal including Mt. Everest (8,848m), Mt, Makalu (8,463m), Mt, Cho Oyu (8153m), Mt. Lhotse (8,501m) and Mt. Lhotse Shar (8,393m),Kanchenjunga, Gaurishankar, Ganesh, Langtang etc. After landing at

Lukla you head up the Dudh Koshi Valley on a well-marked trail and you will be accommodated at local lodge.

Day 04: Trek to Namche Leaving Phakding, you will cross and re-cross the river on high suspension bridges, Monjo- the entrance to the Sagarmatha National Park which was set-up in order to protect and preserve the fragile mountain environment. You follow the path to get Namche which is the major trading village in Khumbu region. If the weather is clear, you get the first glimpse of Mt Everest. Day 05: Rest day in Namche Today is rest day. You will spend your entire day in Namche by taking complete rest as acclimatization to gain altitude, planning for forthcoming trips and getting habituated to your trekking destinations. To acclimatize, you visit Khunde Hospital which was set up by Sir Edmund Hillary, Everest view Hotel for sunset views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam. Day 06: Trek to Thyangboche This day from Namche, the trail follows the path to the side of the valley, high above the Dudh Koshi. You will get first really good views of the great peaks of the Khumbu including Mt Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam. As you descend, you will pass several Sherpa villages and tea shops. You hike to reach Thyangboche by following the zigzag path which offers awesome sights of rhododendron bushes with beautiful birds and superb mountain scenery. Finally, you get Thyangboche which is famous for its legendary monastery, the largest in the Khumbu. Day 07: Trek to Pheriche Today from Thyangboche you will descend downhill through the forests and by crossing the Imja Khola. Then trail follows the uphill path to the village of Pangboche which is directly opposite Mt. Ama Dablam [6,856 m]. You can enjoy with the views of mountains, forest, gompa, rivers etc. After two hours of walking you will get your last destination for today.
Day 08: Rest day in Pheriche

Today again is a rest day, you will spend your entire day taking complete rest as acclimatization to gain altitude, planning for forthcoming trips and getting habituated to your trekking destinations. On this day, you can climb up onto ridge overlooking for the view of Mt. Lhotse and Imja Valley. Day 09: Trek to Lobuche From Pheriche you will trek up to Lobuche by passing the wide valley, Khumbu glacier and several tea houses. Besides this, you can catch the pictures of magnificent views of Cholatse and Tawache.
Day 10: Trek to Gorak Shep

Your last destination for today is Gorak Shep. To reach Gorak Shep you will pass Kala Pattar and Khumbu glaciers, superb views of surrounding mountains. After about 3 hours of walking you will reach Gorak Shep which is the base for Everest Base Camp.
Day 11: Trek to Everest BC, back to Gorak Shep

A very early start is required to reach the Everest Base Camp. It takes several hours as the trail weaves its way through ice pinnacles and past the crevasses of the Khumbu Glacier. On the return leg, you can take a higher route to get a spectacular view of the Khumbu icefall and the route to the South Col. Day 12: Trek to Pangboche This day you follow the path to get Pangboche village by downhill walking. After some hours of walking you will reach Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA). After visiting HRA you will go ahead to Pangboche by passing Khumbu Khola, Imja Khola and suspension bridge. Day 13: Trek to Namche From Pangboche your trek continue to Namche by following the river, rhododendron forests and the Himalaya views of Tawache, Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Kantega and Thamserku. Day 14: Trek to Lukla This is your final days trek which follow the path to Dudh Koshi to reach Lukla. After reaching Lukla in the evening, you have a time to enjoy with Sherpa guides and porters by taking local drinks.
Day 15: Flight to Kathmandu

After having breakfast you can check in the airport to fly back to Kathmandu. At the Kathmandu airport, your guide will transfer to the designed hotel. In the evening you have free time for refreshment and shopping etc. Day 16: Depart Kathmandu After checking out of the hotel, our representative will take to the airport for your flight home. Or if you want to stay longer for short tours i.e. National parks, rafting, and mountain biking, hiking, etc. do not forget to ask us.
