Waiting, I awaited // Yahweh, And he inclined to me // and heard my cry. And he brought me up from the tu- // multous pit, From the // mire of slime; And he set my feet u- // pon the rock; He established // my footsteps/ And he put in my mouth a // new song, Praise // to our God. Many will see and // fear, And will trust // in Yahweh. Happy is the young valiant who has made Yahweh his // trust, And has not faced about to the proud and those fall- // ing to a lie. Many things you have done, Yahweh my God, your wonders and your thoughts to- // ward us, There is no arranging them // before you. I will declare and // speak. 'They are powerfully // numerous.' Sacrifice and tribute you did // not desire. My ears // you have drilled. Ascension and Purification you // did not ask. Then I said, 'Be- // hold I come.' In the scroll of the book it is written of me. To do your will, my God, // I delight; And your teaching is within // my inward parts. I bear tidings of your righteousness in a great as- // sembly. Behold, my lips I // do not restrain. Yahweh, you your- // self know. Your righteousness I did not hide // in my heart. Your faithfulness and salvation // I spoke. I did not conceal your kindevotion and your truth from a great // assembly.

You, Yahweh, you will not withhold your compassions // from me. Your kindevotion and your truth continually // preserve me. For surrounding me are evils til there is no // number. Overtaking me are my liabilities and I am not a- // ble to see. They are more numerous than the hairs of my // head, And my heart has // forsaken me. Be pleased, Yahweh to de- // li ver me. Yahwheh, to // my help make haste. Let them be shamed and confounded to- // gether, Those who seek my soul to // destroy it. Let them be turned back and dis- // graced, Those who wish // me evil. Let them be desolate because of their // shame, Those saying to me, // 'Aha, Aha.' Let them be glad and re- // joice in you, All those // who seek you. Let them say continually, 'Great is // Yahweh.' Those who love your // salvation. But I? Oppressed and // needy. My Master purpos- // es for me. My help and deliverer are // you. My God, // do not delay. Blessed be Yahweh, God of // Israel, From everlasting to // everlasting. A // men, Yes // Amen.
