PNR MODIFICATION

MODIFYING A PASSENGER NAME

The Amadeus system provides the Name Update command as a facility to modify the first names of the passengers. Name change processing procedures vary from airline to airline. Check with the airline concerned if they allow name change/corrections as this may be rejected and result to non-synchronization of records with Amadeus. Information on name change policies can be found in GGAMAPHSEA.

REBOOKING FLIGHTS, CLASSES AND DATES

PNRs booked in Amadeus should always be synchronized with that of the airline. Mishandling in rebooking brings about most cases of non-syncronization. One must consider if the airline involved is a system user or a non-system user. Check GGPCAXX (where XX is the airline code).

Please do not reuse a Dead PNR. A Dead PNR is a PNR, which you have previously cancelled. It is possible that your booking will not be generated to the airline.

The system ends transaction on the Parent PNR and automatically appends the SP indicator with the associate record locator. The AXR flag stands for Associated Cross Reference meaning that this PNR has a cross-reference record. When you retrieve a PNR that was manually split, the system automatically appends the ---AXR--- tag to the top of the PNR.

You now have two PNRs. Perform any applicable modifications required by the passenger.

Ensure that the associate / baby PNR has a new Amadeus record locator and a new airline record locator before making any modifications.
