The Dallas AIA Atheneum is a multi-use building located o of Woodall Rodgers Freeway in Dallas, TX across from The Park development. The program included new o ces for the Dallas AIA, a small gallery/exhibition space, and a cafe. The primary design was focused on the creation and use of shadows.

The art installation on Ave. J is meant to modify the street physically and emotionally. The design was generated by deforming a grid using site lines to create faults . With new grid in place, extrusions from the grid then created new opportunities to create a spacial bu er from the streets, a new skin over an existing building, and a contemplative park. As the user progresses through the installation the scale of extrusions become larger which changes the experience through the path of travel.

Mesa Verde Interpretive Center

Graduate Work
The Interpretative center at Mesa Verde National Park explores the connection of Hopi religion and the verticality of a site situated on a cli . The project makes a bold move by employing vertical circulation down the cli side and using the cli to help support the load. The project also engages the senses by using two vertical ns that are angled back to cli . From the top of the of the cli , the ns create a long entrance that culminates at the jewel, a glass structure, which allows visitors a nearly non-inhibited view of the canyon and the structures in the cli wall. Following the cues from the native architecture, the interpretative center also utilizes rooftops in a terraced fashion that creates a viewing angle from nearly all horizontal planes.

Graduate Work
High Cotton is a large scale mixed-use campus set in the eastern section of Lubbock, TX. The site consists of many existing buildings which have a strong history to Lubbocks cotton legacy. Our group focused on making this site as pedestrian friendly as possible while providing new ideas for adaptive re-use and new building use to the clients. The main design concept was to utilize two spaces throughout the site, the celebration space and the contemplative space.
