4. PLANNING AND ZONING ACTION (TABLED ITEM):


4-1-0. REZONING PETITION 2007-077-H. Request by South Georgia Bank, agent for Carl I.
Varnedoe, Jr., to rezone 1.929 acres of land, more or less, from R-TH (Townhouse Dwelling
District) to O-C (Office Commercial) for a bank at 737 South Main Street, further described as
Parcel 13, LCTM H-34, and Parcel 169, LCTM H-33.

5. ELECTION OF MAYOR PRO TEMPORE: According to the Code of the City of Hinesville,
Georgia, Section 2-50. Mayor Pro Tempore; Acting Mayor. At the first regular meeting of the
Mayor and City Council after election and qualification, they shall elect one of their members Mayor
Pro Tempore.

6. PUBLIC SAFETY COMMUNICATIONS: Thomas Wahl, Director Public Safety


Communication for Liberty County, Georgia will present the 2007 Annual Report.

7. P.C. SIMONTON & ASSOCIATES: A bid opening was held on January 9, 2008 for the
Wastewater Treatment Plant #2 Fencing Project.
Action Item

8. CH2MHILL/OMI: A bid opening was held on January 10, 2008 for grinding and
screening services of yard waste product located at the J.V. Road Recycling Center.

9. ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE LICENSE:


9-1-0. ESTABLISHMENT CHANGED MANAGERS: Ruby Tuesday, Inc. dba Ruby Tuesday,
a Class II establishment located at 543 W Oglethorpe Hwy, has hired a new local manager
responsible for alcohol sales (beer, wine, liquor). James Doering will be the local manager
responsible for alcohol sales.

9-2-0. ALCOHOL BEVERAGE LICENSE RENEWAL FOR 2008: (NOT ON
PROBATION): Aztecan Mexican Restaurant, located at 351C Deal St would like to renew the
Class I Alcoholic Beverage License for year 2008. This license is for on premise consumption of
beer and liquor. The local manager is Angelica Perez.

10. TRANSIENT MERCHANT LICENSE REQUEST: Circus Pages International, Inc. would like
to hold a Circus at the National Guard Armory on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 and Thursday,
January 31, 2008. There will be two shows daily, one at 4:30 p.m. and another at 7:30 p.m.

17. CITY MANAGER’S REPORT:

17-1-0. Appointments to the Hinesville Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (HAMPO):


To appoint individuals to the Hinesville Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (HAMPO)
Policy Committee (1 position) and the Citizens Advisory Committee (4 positions).

17-2-0. Mayor and Council Group Photos: Photos will be taken in the Main
Conference Room prior to the Council Meeting on February 7, 2008 at 12:00 noon.

17-3-0. Mayor and Council Workshop: The workshop will be at the Belle Bluff Club House in
Midway, January 18, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

17-4-0. The Martin Luther King Jr. Day Annual Parade: The MLK parade will be held on
January 21, 2008, starting at 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.
Informational Items

18. CITY ATTORNEY APPOINTMENT: According to the Code of the City of Hinesville,
Georgia, Section 2-334, Appointment and qualifications. The City Attorney shall be appointed
by the Mayor, by and with the advice and consent of the City Council.
Action Item

19. MUNICIPAL COURT JUDGE APPOINTMENT: According to the Code of the City of
Hinesville, Georgia, Section 10-2, Appointment, Qualifications of Municipal Court Judge. The
Municipal Court Judge shall be appointed by, and shall serve at the pleasure of, the Mayor and at
least four members of the City Council.

20. LIBERTY COUNTY DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY APPOINTMENT: One member shall


be appointed by the governing authority of the City of Hinesville, Liberty County, and the Liberty
County Chamber of Commerce. The member of such authority shall serve a term which shall
coincide with the term of the governing authority which shall appoint them.
