Candidacy and subsequent membership in this chapter of Beta Alpha Psi requires a fee of $95; a onetime $55 fee for the first semester and a fee of $40 for annual dues. Payment is due within the first four weeks of each semester, but if you would like to attend our Meet the Firms event, payment is due before the event takes place. Once you have been notified that your application has been accepted through an acceptance email, payment can be made at UVU Clubs in LC-101a. Once payment has been made, provide your payment receipt to National Reporter, Erin Thompson. To be considered as a candidate, you must meet the following criteria:

Eligibility for Beta Alpha Psi Candidacy and Membership

a. Have declared a major in accounting or finance. b. Have completed ACCT 2010 (Intro Financial Accounting) with the grade of at least a B-. c. Have maintained an overall cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. * At least one semester of candidacy must be completed to be considered for membership status. Candidate must have attended 10 professional meetings and completed 20 service hours during the semester to be considered. To be considered for initiation as a member, you must meet the following criteria: a. Have declared a major in accounting or finance. b. Have completed ACCT 3010 (Intermediate Financial Accounting I) with a grade of at least a B- and have a cumulative grade point average in all upper division (3000 level) accounting (or finance if you are a finance major) courses of 3.0. c. Have maintained an overall cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. d. Have completed at least one semester as a candidate during which you attended at least 10 professional meetings and provided at least 20 hours of service per semester; If candidates fail to meet the requirements for membership after their first semester of upper-division accounting courses, candidates will be granted one additional semester within which to meet the requirements. Failure to meet the membership requirements after that additional semester will result in the student being removed from candidate status and Beta Alpha Psi.
