Atonement-The 3 Types
Atonement-The 3 Types
Limited Atonement Did Christ die for just the elect? No If Jesus Christ only died for the elect than how can the lost be found guilty of rejected Jesus Christ. Matthew 1:21 (KJV) 21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Matthew 20:28 (KJV) 28 Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. Matthew 26:28 (KJV) 28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. John 10:11-15 (KJV) 11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. 12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. 13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. 15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. John 15:13 (KJV) 13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Acts 20:29 (KJV) 29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Romans 8:33-36 (KJV) 33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. 34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Hebrews 9:28 (KJV) 28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. NOTE: Limited atonement is filled will phrases like these: 1. for he shall save his people from their sins 2. to give his life a ransom for many 3. shed for many for the remission of sins 4. giveth his life for the sheep 5. I lay down my life for the sheep The argument is that Christ only died for the Elect which in a since is right but can't eliminate the Non- Elect altogether to go to such far extreme. It is the extreme view which makes Limited Atonement the wrong choice to take. It is like driving a car on to flat tires or the half full cup example. It would make rejecting the Gospel to no effect to the lost because the lost has to reject something in order to be guilty of rejecting Jesus Christ that died for them also but since reject Christ did not die to cover their sins.
Conclussion: Whether it is Limited or Unlimited, the answer is only half right and any half right in the Bible is wrong. They also contradict each other and there is NO, NO contradiction in the Bible. One can't turn a light bulb on half way and YES I THINKING AHEAD because I am NOT talking dimmer switch. There are NO grey areas in the Bible and Limited and Unlimited are grey areas. So watch my video and I will explain it where all the verses fit together and NO GREY AREAS. Sufficient Atonement Christ died to fulfill the law and said so in Matthew 5:17-18 (KJV) Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. John 19:30 (KJV) 30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. NOTE: We know in this was the finishing point of the "Death of Sin" and completed the works of Jesus Christ that fulfilled the Law of Moses. Matthew 7:12-14 (KJV) 12Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. 13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Acts 7:51 (KJV) Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye. Ephesians 1:13 (KJV) 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, NOTE: It is a fact that many will reject Jesus Christ as in Matthew, Acts and Ephesians show that promise is made but resist is there also. So Atonement has to be sufficient for everyone to except or eject Christ Crucified and the Atoning that it done at the cross with His blood. It is Sufficient Atonement offer to everyone but it is them to except or reject its offer. So if one believes in Jesus Christ that He washed away their sins by the blood of the cross than they are SAVED. Not if but when the non-elect hears, sees or is told of the Word of God and by choice ejects to receive the Word of God and keeps ejecting the cleansing blood of Jesus Christ on the cross. At a point they will no long be offer the opportunity to receive it. To that person, Jesus Christ did not die for his sin because he refused and he will die in his sins.
