Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme Graphic Charter
Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme Graphic Charter
At the 2006 FIM Congress in Salvador, the General Assembly approved the principle of adopting a
modernised logo for the FIM. A mandate was given to the Management Council to select and
decide on the final logo design taking into consideration the modern requirements of a federation
with new ambitions.
We are pleased to announce that the modernised FIM logo, that has been selected by the
Management Council and which will be used as from 1.1.2008, has been published on the FIM
website (under FIM Graphic Charter). This logo was created with the intention of providing a symbol
of unity and a graphical representation of community, harmony and balance. It preserves the main
elements of our traditional symbols always present in previous versions of the FIM logo: wings,
wheel, laurels and cylinder.
We kindly request all FMNs, CONUs, Promoters, etc. to make every effort to use exclusively the
new FIM logo as from 1.1.2008 and to follow scrupulously the requirements for its use as laid down
in the attached Graphic Charter.
This Graphic Charter can also be found on the Member Area of the FIM website that can be
accessed by typing your password and access code. Then select the first menu to your left "FIM
Graphic Charter". A CD-ROM will be available at the Biennial Session which includes the full
Graphic Charter.
Kindly help us by using and respecting the new FIM modernised logo!

Our Identity
The logotype of the FIM is the FIM's official hallmark. As such it indicates
intellectual property belonging to the FIM. It can therefore only be used
for purposes or for events that are expressly approved or sanctioned by
the FIM.
This logo was created with the intention of providing a unifying symbol,
a graphical representation of community, harmony and balance.

FIM IDENTITY SYSTEM
1. Logo Usage
This FIM logotype is our shared distinctive symbol throughout the world. It is therefore
essential that everyone should recognize it immediately. Any variation from the norm is
consequently absolutely prohibited. You will find portrayed below a few examples of
things to avoid in order to keep our identity intact.
It is vital to preserve the design of this logotype, not to separate its constituent elements
and to respect the spacing and proportions of the original.
Spacing to be maintained
Always leave a "breathing-space" (x) around the FIM logo; this space should be
proportional to the size of the inner circle of the logo. You may also print an image as a
background behind the framed logo as long as the logo remains clearly legible.
Four-colour Process /
3 colours (Black + 2 Pantone colours) 1 colour, black
The width ot the logo must not be less than 1/5 of the width of
the document.
2. Logo Usage
Colour, black and white or flat black logos can be applied to any kind of
background, as long as the logos remain legible.
When the background is contrasting and makes the logo difficult to see,
the logo must be used with the frame associated with the logo.
