Chaparral Days is the official kick-off of fall semester! Join us for two weeks of welcome events full of games, music, and giveaways. Attending Chaparral Days events is a GREAT way to meet other COD students, get involved in campus life, and find out about campus offices and services. All events are free for students, and all are welcome. August 20 24: Student Life Extended Hours for Student IDs The Office of Student Life (SSC 1217) will be holding extended office hours from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. August 20th 24th for Student IDs. IDs are only $5 and can be used as Library cards. They also allow students to participate in many area discount programs. Tuesday August 21 Intro to the Library Online Session (10am 11am) Location: Online http://library.codlibrary.org/sos/online In this short online session you will learn:

How the Library can help you find information-- any information! Alter Ego Productions presents: Inflatable Game Day (10am to 2pm) Location: Compass Hill (SRC South) Challenge your friends to the gladiator joust, challenge Jacobs ladder, or battle on the bungee run! Well also have tons of giveaways and you can find out how to join Alter Ego Productions, the entertainment club on campus. Student Leadership Council Open House (4pm to 5pm) Location: Student Services Center 2214 Stop by to meet the Student Leadership Council team and find out how you can be a part of the student voice at COD. There will be giveaways for attendees. Wednesday August 22 Alter Ego Productions presents: Inflatable Game Day with B96 (10a to 2p) Location: Compass Hill (SRC South) Challenge your friends to the gladiator joust, challenge Jacobs ladder, or battle on the bungee run! Radio station B96 will be DJing for us starting at 10am and they will also have games, giveaways and maybe concert tickets! (Quit) Cold Turkey Sandwich Giveaway for Students (11:30am) Location: Compass Hill (SRC South) Chaparral Country is Tobacco-free! Student Life invites students to enjoy a turkey sandwich during the Inflatable Game Day as our campus makes the transition to being tobacco-free. First come, first serve! Student ID REQUIRED. Admissions & Outreach Open House Location: Student Services Center 2207 Stop by Admissions & Outreach to receive a general tour or get assistance with locating your classes. We look forward in assisting you during the start of your semester at College of DuPage! Campus Central Open House Location: Student Services Center Atrium Campus Central is your one-stop-shop for information related to Admissions, Advising, Counseling, Registration, Financial Assistance, and Student Life. Swing by to meet the staff and pick up some information on what services we offer. Welcome! Career Services Open House Location: Student Services Center 2225 Explore ways to set yourself apart and earn credit! Visit Career Services to learn how you can gain work experience through an internship at one of many local companies or make a difference in your own community and academic success through service learning. The Learning Commons Open House Location: Student Resource Center 2102 The Learning Commons is a free academic support center for students seeking assistance with math, reading, writing, and speech. The Learning Commons is also home to Course Connections which includes: Flexible Learning courses, developmental Math and English classes, assistance to students enrolled in online, classroom, and hybrid courses. Students will also find tutoring services available in the Learning Commons. Tours of the area will take place during the Open House, stop in! The Library Open House Location: Student Resource Center 2020 Student Life Open House Location: Student Services Center 1200 & 1217 Check out the Office of Student Life and the Student Life Lounge in the Student Services Center! Meet the staff and learn about everything we have to offer including clubs, leadership development opportunities, and a fantastic student lounge with pool and Ping-Pong tables. We also sell Pace bus passes, discount movie tickets, and discount passes to Great America! Student Records Open House Location: Student Resource Center: 2150 Come check out the Records Office! Meet the staff and learn about all the services available to you; Enrollment Verification, Final Grade Reports, Office Transcripts, Prerequisites, Transfer Credit Evaluation, and Graduation!

Tobacco-Free Health Fair (10am to 1pm & 5 to 7pm) Location: Student Services Center Atrium This free event will provide tips for kicking the habit, guidelines for overall wellness and stress management, as well as information on the real cost of tobacco use and health-based services available at the College and in the DuPage area. Sci-Fi/Fantasy Club Random Game Day (1pm to 6pm) Location: Student Life Lounge (SSC 1200) Are you interested in science fiction, fantasy, anime, and gaming of all forms? Then join us! We'll have games and anime; you can also find out about CosPlay, LARP, and other related activities at COD. First Collegiate Council Meeting for Clubs (4 to 5pm) Location: Student Services Center 3245 Officers from student clubs are welcome to attend the first Collegiate Council meeting of the year to share club news and events. Leadership and club development workshops being offered for 2012 2013 through Student Life will also be previewed. Wednesday August 29 Student Life Fair (10 to 1pm) Location: Lower Level of the Student Services Center (SSC) Members of more than 50 student clubs, campus programs, college offices and service providers will be available to tell you about what they do! Free food, tons of giveaways, entertainment, and fun! Combine the silly fun of karaoke with the energy of a live rock band. FREE for everyone. Student ID REQUIRED for Hot Dogs on the Hill.
