MUSIC Review Cordilleras means "mountain ranges," and this album was conceived as a celebration of the majestic mountain

ranges that form the backbone of the American continent. The group -- with members from Mexico, Chile, Peru, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. -- Echoes of Incas plays Andes-inspired music combining native instruments (pan pipes, flutes, drums, and percussion) with Spanish guitars, keyboards, and nature sounds. Some of the pieces sound very authentic, such as the horse gallop cadence of "Celebrando," while other pieces float more in the modern world. The fox-trot of "Mar Turqueza" has a dancehall ambience, while "Mujer Gitana" (Gypsy Woman) is an upbeat nuevoflamenco piece with guitars and pan pipes. Two guitars surround you on "Camino Mistico"; the dream begins with the entry of the deep-throated pan pipes; a double-time beat on the drums then prances with the cadence. "Leganias" (Distant Places) features layered harmonies, slightly dissonant, of pan pipes. Whatever modern liberties the group takes with the arrangements, the Spanish guitars, drumbeats, churango (small ten-string guitar made from an armadillo shell), and pan pipes keep the music distinctively -- and endearingly -- Incan. ~ Carol Wright, All Music Guide Tracks Track Title Composers Performers Time Celebrando (Celebration) Arturo G. Flexibility is variable between individuals, particularly in terms of differences in muscle length of multi-joint muscles. Flexibility in some joints can be increased to a certain degree by exercise, with stretching a common exercise component to maintain or improve flexibility.
Muscular endurance is very important for people playing sports and who have to sustain an activity for long periods of time. Muscular endurance is determined by how well your slow twitch muscle fibers are developed. In case your wondering what slow twitch muscle fibers are, I will explain. There are generally two types of muscle fibers in your body, slow twitch and fast twitch. Slow twitch muscle fibers cannot exert as much force as fast twitch, but can sustain an effort over a much greater period of time. Fast twitch muscle fibers can exert a great amount of force but for a very limited amount of time. Therefore, slow twitch equals endurance, while fast twitch equals strength.

Cardiorespiratory endurance is the ability of the heart and lungs to absorb, transport, and utilize oxygen over an extended period of physical exertion. As one of the four primary components of physical fitness, cardiorespiratory endurance is an important measure of the overall health and fitness. Age, genetics, and physical conditioning all play a role in an individual's cardiorespiratory endurance. Body composition (particularly body fat percentage) can be measured in several ways. The most common method is by using a set of measurement calipers to measure the thickness of subcutaneous fat in multiple places on the body. This includes the abdominal area, the subscapular region, arms, buttocks and thighs. These measurements are then used to estimate total body fat with a margin of error of approximately four percentage points.
