WESLEY JAREL MORRIS

The Presentation of an Humble Servant of God
Under the guidance of the Spirit of Jesus the Christ, Brother Wesley Jarel Morris, is a full time worker for the Kingdom of God. He is currently employed at the Beloved Community Center (BCC) of Greensboro, NC. He received an undergraduate degree in Professional History from North Carolina A&T State University. Brother Wesley was born in Raleigh, NC, on April 24, 1985, to Mr. W. J. Morris and Mrs. Carol Morris. His current focus of work at the BCC includes immigrant and worker justice and youth organizing. Brother Wesley is a dedicated mentor, facilitator, and reconciler. He actively works, building better relationships among the races, especially African American and Latino Unity. He is also works closely with the Farm Labor Organizing Committee (FLOC) as a Human Rights Advocate for farm workers in North Carolina. In his day-to-day work listed above as well as much, much more Brother Wesley has exhibited the compassion and faith that exemplify the Spirit of Jesus Christ. Two years ago Brother Wesley formerly became a member of Faith Community Church. He has worked closely with Rev. Joseph Fierson and Deacon Sabrina Peacock as part of the Youth Ministerial Team at Faith. We have all been blessed youth and adults by his preaching and teaching. The Church has witnessed his growth and his deep, humble spirit and commitment. Co-Pastors Rev. Nelson Johnson and Rev. Lucretia Middleton, after prayerful consideration and reflection, discussion with Brother Wesley, and consultation with the Church Council, happily consented to bring Brother Wesley before the Congregation for licensing as a Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Today, he will be our preacher. As is the tradition in congregational churches, the members will be asked to join with the Co-Pastors and Church Council to formerly grant a license to Brother Wesley Jarel Morris, thus confirming that Faith Community Church acknowledges him as a spirit-filled preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our acknowledgement will be an invitation to all others to receive him as a Preacher of the Gospel. Brother Wesley has expressed plans to further his Christian religious training and theological development by attending seminary in the near future. He will be ordained at a time and place determined by the Holy Spirit. As a gifted young man called by God to preach, we could not be happier or more proud to invite all gathered here today to hear a Word from the Lord through our Brother and Friend, Mr. Wesley Jarel Morris. We trust the guidance of the Holy Spirit in the furtherance of this day. Yours in Christ Jesus,
