IRONHEART OVERVIEW
The story of IronHeart Racing is founded on individuals who have overcome incredible odds, faced insurmountable adversity and have done what many would view as impossible. Their mission is to inspire others, raise awareness and make people rethink the limits of the human spirit, what it takes to be a hero and identify their legacy.
Founded by Dave Watkins, Ironheart Racing is a team where anyone with or connected to heart disease can transform their life in the name of heart health. Now in 40 states and 7 countries, IronHeart Racing competes in over 900 endurance events per year- ranging from 5Ks to Marathons, century rides and Iron-distance triathlons. Through sport, this group strives to raise awareness for Congenital Heart Defects (CHD) and Healthy Heart Living. They hope to inspire others along the way. The Ironheart Foundation was created to allow members of Ironheart a way to give back. The Foundation supports cardiac related charities that cover the life-span (birth through adulthood). All members are encouraged to create fundraising campaigns, and all IronHeart Events will benefit these charities.
Ironheart Events is the original One-Mile race series and 4/8 mile run. Designed for all ages, all abilities, and all shapes and sizes. The 4 mile Classic represents the 4 chambers of the heart. The 8 mile represents the 4 chambers and 4 valves of the heart. The Ironheart Mile... its simple: You have 1 heart, you can run 1 mile!
The Ironheart Group proves with a little hard work and a big heart, anything is possible. For more info, please visit www.ironheartgroup.com or contact Dave Watkins at dave@ironheartracing.com. 425-829-0783.
