Fall into a ton of fun by coming to activities this month. Enjoy a hayride and bonfire in the crisp fall air. Join us to decorate pumpkins and to create Halloween crafts. Wear your S.A.S. in the evening or week- costume to the Halloween dance and participate in the costume contest and dance the night away. Come to the Science Center end to view the Wolf Night to Howl exhibit and also join the outing to the Wolf Sanctuary to see wolves up close and perPatty Yarrow 636-293-3506 sonal. Quality Education Specialist Mike Davidson is offering a fun-filled tour of the Emmaus Training Department and offerAngela Curtis ing consumers the opportunity to make suggestions. Music buffs Sherifa-Hardware-Bet5hune will enjoy the music of ABBA at Lindenwood University. The Boeing Brass Band, Musical Memories singing duo and the Boeing Jazz band are all coming to Emmaus to perform this month. Enjoy a trip to the History Museum to see the Olympic exhibit and learn about the history of the Olympics. Bowling enthusiS.A.S. during the day asts SAS is forming a bowling league for the month of October Patty Yarrow: 636-534-5264 that will be meeting every Wednesday afternoon 1-2:30 at the Cave Springs bowling alley. Join us for a day of fishing. Football fans will enjoy attending a football game at St. Shelley Saale Charles High School to watch St. Charles High Pirates as they battle their rival the Duschene Pioneers. The Caring and SharCindy Burrows ing Church group are coming to share their time and talent with us. Be sure not to miss our annual Fall festival! There will be a haunted house to tour, crafts to make, games to play, face painting, horse drawn carriage rides and lunch is provided for all. So come and join us for all the awesome October activities.

10//2 Scrapbook Club This Club meets the 1st Tuesday evening of every month. Bring your photos or other momentos and use the scrapbooking supplies. Tonight you will learn how to make a Halloween themed page. Consumer fee is $1.00. 10/4 Music - Boeing Jazz Band- Listen to the cool jazz of the Boeing Band in the chapel at 6:30-7:30 10/5 Movie The movie is Bettlejuice; a Halloween fantasy that is funny and fun.

10/9 Craft- Make and take a black and orange checker (game) set. Consumer fee is $1.00 10/11 Cooking class- - We will be making fun recipes with sunflower seeds. 10/12 Wolf sanctuary-outing to the wolf sanctuary to get a chance to see wolves up close and personal in their natural habitat. Consumer fee is $12.00 10/12 Football game- Enjoy a football game with rivals St Charles High Pirates and Duchesne Pioneers. The football game will be at St. Charles High School. We will leave campus from the flagpole at 6pm, or you can meet us at the field. The game starts at 7:00 and ends around 9:00p.m. The cost for the game is $5.00(cash only). The tickets for seniors(65 and over) are free. 10/13 Fall FestivalJoin us for this free festival located behind the main building at Emmaus. Starting at ten in the morning take a Horse drawn carriage ride, play a game and win a prize, or make a craft. Be brave and tour the Haunted House located on the second floor of the Main building at Emmaus. Get your face painted and get to know some of the many volunteers helping to make this such a special event. A chili luncheon with corn muffins and apple crisp will be provided in the SAS room starting at noon. 10/14 Musical Memories- Listen to this twosome sing some great songs. 10/16 Fishing trip Bring a bagged lunch and enjoy a day of fishing. 10/16 History Museum - View the Olympic Exhibit at the History Museum and learn about the history of the Olympics.

10/18 Tour of the Training Department- Quality Education Specialist Mike Davidson is offering a fun-filled tour of the Emmaus Training Department and the opportunity to make suggestions. Meet in the lower level of the main building. Refreshments will be served. 10/19 Movie Hocus Pocus - a funny Halloween fantasy . 10/19 Volunteer Club- Tonight we will make a project and donate the items to United Services, who serves children of all abilities. 10/20 Caring and Sharing Church Group They are having a Fall presentation in the Chapel. 10/21 Birthday party-Join us for a Sunflower themed October Birthday Party! 10/26 Movie Casperthis story about our favorite ghost intertwines humor with a modern day Cinderella story. 10/ 26 Hayride/ Bonfire- Enjoy a hayride in the crisp fall air and then roast hot dogs and marshmallows over the bonfire. Bundle up! Be on time! We will meet at the flagpole at 5:45 or at Fort Zumwalt Park in OFallon at 6:15 p.m. Bring a flashlight if you can. Consumer fee is $5.00. 10//27 Sensory A sensory experience can be relaxing and meaningful; especially for individuals with severe disabilities. 10/27 Halloween Dance- There will be a Costume contest, refreshments, and dancing!! Consumer fee is $1.00. 10/28 St. Louis Cardinals Stadium Tour-Tour the stadium and the facilities of the World Champions St Louis Cardinals! Consumer and staff fees for the tour are $10.00.

Remember SAS is offering kits for a monthly project or activity to be done in-home. If you would like to participate in the offered project ask your home manager to contact Angela Curtis.

Be sure to call SAS 636-534-5246 to join the October bowling league. We are meeting every Wednesday at 1:00-2:30 at Cave Springs Bowling Alley is St. Charles. The bowling alley is handicap accessible, bowling shoes are optional and bumper pads are available. The bowling league fees are twenty one dollars which include the Wednesday bowling fees and a party on the Fifth Wednesday of October.
