The University invites application (to be downloaded from University website: www.rbu.ac.in) for admission to the following Courses for the session 2012-2013 under the Faculties of Arts, Fine Arts and Visual Arts. Application forms will be available on the University Website: www.rbu.ac.in only from 16.7.12 to 27.7.2012 (upto 4:00 p.m.). Last date of submission of duly filled in downloaded form to the office of the undersigned is 27.7.12 (5:00 p.m).No application form will be available in the University sales counter. 1. Faculty of Arts: (i) Course: M.A. (2 - year) Subjects: Bengali, English, Sanskrit, History, Economics (Semester System), Philosophy, Political Science, and Education. Eligibility : Honours Graduate or its equivalent from any U.G.C. recognized University in the concerned subject. Break of study permissible up to 2 years i.e the candidates who have passed Honours or its equivalent in 2012, 2011 & 2010 are eligible to apply. Admission to the above courses will be taken according to merit as per norms prescribed by the University. (ii) Course: M.S.W. (Master of Social Work) (2 year self-financing) Minimum Eligibility : Honours Graduate or its equivalent from any U.G.C. recognized University in any subject. Break of study permissible up to 2 years i.e the candidates who have passed Honours or its equivalent in 2012, 2011 & 2010 are eligible to apply. Admission to the above courses will be taken according to merit as per norms prescribed by the University. (iii) Course: M.A. (2 - year under semester system; self-financing) Subjects:, (a) Mathematics, Geography, Sociology and Hindi Eligibility : Honours Graduate or its equivalent from any U.G.C. recognized University in the concerned subject. Break of study permissible up to 2 years i.e the candidates who have passed Honours or its equivalent in 2012, 2011 & 2010 are eligible to apply. Admission to the above courses will be taken according to merit as per norms prescribed by the University. (b) Environmental Studies, and Human Rights and Human Development Environmental Studies: Honours Graduate or its equivalent from any U.G.C. recognized University in any subject. Break of study permissible up to - 2 years i.e the candidates who have passed Honours or its equivalent in 2012, 2011 & 2010 are eligible to apply. Admission to the above courses will be taken according to merit as per norms prescribed by the University.

In case of Human Rights and Human Development: 50% marks in aggregate Relaxation up to 10% for SC/ST candidates in any Honours (under 10+2+3 system) course of Social Sciences. For fresher: Break of study permissible up to - 2 years i.e the candidates who have passed Honours or its equivalent in 2012, 2011 & 2010 are eligible to apply. Exception may be made for the candidates already working in Army / Paramilitary force / Police or in any human rights organization / NGO. Admission to Human Rights and Human Development will be made through admission test.

(iv) Diploma in Tagore Literature (1 - year) Minimum Eligibility: Madhyamik or its equivalent. Students of any stream from Degree level to Master Degree level may also apply. 2. Faculty of Visual Arts: (i) Course: M.F.A.: (2 - year under semester system) Subjects: Painting, Sculpture, History of Art, Graphics and Applied Art. Eligibility: At least 50% marks in B.V.A. / B. Fine. or its equivalent from any U.G.C. recognized University. (Relaxation up to 10% for SC, ST candidates) (ii) M.A. in Museology (2 -yr. self-financing course) under Semester System Eligibility: Honours Graduate or its equivalent / Post Graduate with Honours. in any subject from any UGC recognized University. 3. Faculty of Fine Arts: (i) Course: M.A. (2 - year) Subject: Mass Communication & Videography (ii) Course: M.A. (2 - year under semester system) Subjects: Rabindra Sangeet, Vocal Music, Dance, Drama, Musicology, Instrumental Music & Percussion. Eligibility : Honours graduate/ Post Graduate from any U.G.C. recognized University in any subject or its equivalent and special aptitude in the concerned subject.

How to Apply:
For downloading the Application Form, it will be mandatory for the candidates to make proper entry of the requisite information in prescribed spaces provided in the website. 1. It is to be noted that the information entered in the prescribed places in the website will reflect on the downloaded Application Form and the same information will be saved in the database for further processing of the form for admission. 2. The candidates are advised to make correct entry only. 3. No fictitious information should be entered. 4. No application for change of information already reflected on the downloaded form will be entertained. 5. Please follow the instructions and fill the complete form. 6. Before filling, keep all the information required in this form ready. 7. Incomplete form cannot be downloaded. 8. Downloaded form should be signed by the candidate and his/her parent/guardian at the given spaces in the form. 9. Details of the demand draft are mandatory for downloading the form. So draft must be prepared before filling this form. 10. It is mandatory to attach the demand draft/pay order (non-refundable) for Rs.100/- drawn in favour of "Rabindra Bharati University", payable at Kolkata with the downloaded form as processing fee. 11. Draft CANNOT be purchased from SBI, Rabindra Bharati University Campus Branch. This must be purchased from other branch of SBI or any other bank drawn on Calcutta. If the draft

is purchased from SBI (not from RBU branch), it must be drawn on CCPC, Kolkata with code: 10391. 12. The duly filled in downloaded form along with copies of all mark sheets, certificates and other relevant documents and demand draft, should be submitted to the Office of the Secretary, Faculty Councils at 56A, B.T. Road, Kolkata - 700 050, in person within 5:00 p.m. 26.07.12 positively (except Saturdays, Sundays & university holidays).

Reservation of Seats 1. Reservation of seats for the reserved categories will be as per W.B.Govt. rules. 2. Few seats are reserved in each course for Foreign / NRI students against a higher rate of tuition fees. In case of non-availability of Foreign / NRI students, Indian students may be considered in those seats against the same rate. For these NRI seats application will be invited from the candidates who have already downloaded online admission form and applied for admission in normal process. Application will be invited from such applicants after the admission of 2nd merit list. Norms being adopted for preparation of merit list 1. For the subjects under the Faculty of Arts (other than Human Rights and Human Development): (a) H.S or its equivalent - 50 (score) (best of 5 subjects other than Environmental Education (ENVS) (b) Honours or its equivalent - 50 (score) Aggregate of the total score (a +b = total score) will be counted towards preparation of provisional merit lists which will be subject to verification. However, admission of the candidates passed from Open Universities will be made through admission test. 2. For the subjects under Faculty of Fine Arts: (a) H.S or its equivalent (best of 5 subjects other than Environmental Education (ENVS) (b) BA (Hons) or its equivalent OR MA or its equivalent (if applicant has MA degree) (c) Admission Test (including theory, practical etc)

Aggregate of the total score (a + b + c = total score) will be counted towards preparation of provisional merit lists which will be subject to verification. 3. For the subjects under the Faculty of Visual Arts: Admission will be taken through admission test. Marks obtained in the admission test will be counted towards preparation of merit list. Publication of Lists 1. For the subjects under the Faculty of Arts: Provisional Merit list of the candidates selected for admission and other details will be published on the University website on 17.8.12 (after 4:00 pm) and on the admission notice boards on 21.8.12 after 4.00 p.m. 2. For the subjects under the Faculties of Fine Arts & Visual Arts: Provisional lists of the candidates selected for admission test will be published on the University website on 04.8.12 In case of any disputes, the decision of the University will be final and binding to all concerned.
