TOURIST VISA SHORT STAY It is suggested that you apply at least one month prior to departure, but not more than three months before the planned entry. Please ensure that all documents requested are submitted to the Embassy in the following order. Spouses or children of EU citizens have to submit only items marked with . Do I require a visa for Switzerland?


Travellers wishing to enter Switzerland for the purpose of tourism, business trips and visits for a maximum stay of 90 days do NOT require a Schengen visa for Switzerland if they hold one of the following passports (passport has to be valid at the time of departure from Switzerland):

1) BRITISH PASSPORT: must contain one of the following remarks: British Citizen (B.C) British National (Overseas) (B.N:O.) British Overseas Territory Citizen (B.O.T.C.), only with right of abode in UK British Subject, only with right of abode in UK

TRANSIT VISA Airport Transit Visas for Switzerland are required by nationals of the following countries, unless they hold a valid visa for the UK, USA, Canada or the Schengen States, in which case no Airport Transit Visa will be required (requirements as other nationalities): Afghanistan Ghana Dem. SCHENGEN VISA REQUIREMENTS FOR SWITZERLAND Please note that the visa application must be submitted to the Swiss Embassy responsible for your place of residence. A visa application not submitted to the correct Embassy may be rejected.
In order to apply for a visa at the Swiss Embassy, it is necessary to appear in person. The opening hours for spouses of EU nationals are: Monday to Friday 10.00 am 11.30 am (except British and Swiss public holidays) without prior appointment. There will be no handling or visa charges.
