LETTER TO MY UNBORN CHILD SEASON 1

Dear child, my joy knew no limits as I write this letter to you; my pen shook its whole body in enthusiasm upon realizing this letter was meant for you, my writing pad wore a look of excitement after being informed of the purpose of this letter, the stars glow with a smile upon my wise decision to write you, the moon sanctified my thought to ensure I do not forget a message Dear child, I do not know when, where, or how you will be born nor do I know the woman that will conceive you but I am sure that by the grace of the creator of the universe your existence shall be a reality. Dear child, accept my humble apology for not getting in touch with you all this while, it is due to the struggle for a realistic survival because the battle of life is tagged the endurance of the fittest.

Dear child, I am yet to have a clue of what your gender will be but I am not here to talk about that because it will never limit you in any sphere of life. Child, the sole insistence of my letter to you is to get you conversant about what it takes to embark on your foreseen expedition into this world of uncertainties. I should have waited till your arrival but the tussle for existence begins even before your arrival. I want you to know that this same message was what I was not advantaged to get and as such, it took a long time before I know what this strange land is all about.

Dear child, you will be born into a world of chaos, a world of peace, a world of joy, a world of sorrow, a world of anxiety, and a world of courage. Child, do not tremble at whichever one destiny introduces to you for there is a purpose chance made it that way. Upon your arrival you will be received by many people of many titles: the ancient and the early, the giant and the little, the affluent and the

lowly, the grey and the gloomy, the virtuous and the corrupt Do not wonder what makes this so for your stay here shall in no time answer all. I want you to know that life is a drama stage where different characters play different roles: some play it right, some almost did while others dont, try all within your ability to play the game right without sinking a man to rise. I want you to know that you cant make a name here without making a blunder but you should always learn from your faults and never make a mistake twice because cuiusvis hominis est errare; nullius nisi insipientis in errore perseverare (any man can make a mistake; only a fool keeps making the same one).

Child, may your days in this world be a short one with accomplishments and never be elongated by hardships because brevis ipsa vita est sed malis fit logior; life is short but calamity makes it long. It is also trite for you to know that the joy of life does not lie in how long you live but how much you give in a quest to make the world a better and safer place to live. Never be deceived by a smile, never be discouraged by tears; the thoughts of men is a murky tower, it is hard to tell what is there without getting there. Remember my piece on the tale of a false friend and a true enemy; never trust a man and never hate an existence.

My unborn child, telling you I am an immaculate man who has no fault or guilt would be a well-orchestrated fabrication tailored towards your ruin because men are not born to be perfect, we are born to be real. It is an act of cowardice and imprudence to apportion blame to anyone for your misfortune because the ability to climb every mountains of challenge manfully with persistence is the measure of purpose and determination.

Watch that woman that will commend your mother for your arrival because deep inside her shes furious by your existence, see that man with a violent and evil look, he is but a nice and loving man. Watch every door step towards which you will be crawling because the dweller might be keeping grudges. My child, learn to

use words and never resort to war, call on God and not gun. Do not forget that a listening man is always preferred to a talking one because altissima quaeque flumina minimo sono labi (the deepest rivers flow with the least sound). Remember that if you want to keep a secret from an enemy, you should tell it not to a friend. I would not tell you life is a bed of rose because upon your arrival it might be a place like hell. Never mock a victim of circumstance for tomorrow hell be of assistance. Do not deny the effort of anybody in life for you will regret their presence denied. Be humble in all your ways for you not to stumble in your race. Unveil and erase ugly stains blemished in statements. Dear child, be fair to all in your dealings with them and do not be unjust to anyone and know that accipere quam facere praestat injuriam (it is better to suffer injustice than to do injustice). Do not forget that education is the greatest inheritance and without it, ignorance is preordained; I know I do not need to tell you that ignorance is the night of the mind; a night without moon and stars. Never run through ill-fated shortcuts rather walk the clean roads and I want you to build on the legacies of your knights for I will carry everywhere.

Finally, if you want to get to the stop and stay there, you need God, your parents, your friends, your enemies and also your mother. When you get to the top, do not relax and do not forget the travail of fellow men because they labour to get you there and you must return the favour by doing what is impartial; I believe you know that the work of every mountain climbers does not end after getting to the top. Rather, the saga has just begun. culled from www.oluwaseguncreativemind.blogspot.com
