It is hereby notified for information of all concerned that the XXth Convocation of the NorthEastern Hill University will be held on 6th November, 2012 at the NEHU Permanent Campus, Mawkynroh-Umshing, Shillong. I. TO WHOM APPLICABLE: (a) Graduates : Candidates who have passed the Bachelor Degree Examinations after September 2011 and those whose results to be declared up to September 2012. (b) Post-Graduates : Candidates who have passed the Masters Degree Examinations after 23rd September 2011 and those whose results to be declared before 31st October 2012. M.Phil or Ph.D candidate whose results were declared after 23rd September 2011 and to be declared before 31st October 2012.

HOW TO APPLY : For candidates desiring to apply for In Person: Convocation fee (inclusive of prescribed Form) of Rs 260/- (Rupees two hundred and sixty only) for conferment in PERSON is payable through Bank Draft / Bankers cheque drawn in favour of NEHU Shillong. The Bank Draft / Bankers Cheque is required to be drawn on State Bank of India, NEHU Branch (Branch Code 4295). Fee can also be directly deposited into the NEHU account at State Bank of India, NEHU Branch, Shillong through University Challan. For candidates desiring to apply for In absentia: Convocation fee (inclusive of prescribed Form) of Rs 210/- (Rupees two hundred and ten only) for conferment in ABSENTIA is payable through Bank Draft / Bankers cheque drawn in favour of NEHU Shillong. The Bank Draft / Bankers Cheque is required to be drawn on State Bank of India, NEHU Branch (Branch Code 4295). Fee can also be directly deposited into the NEHU account at State Bank of India, NEHU Branch, Shillong through University Challan.

Prescribed Application Forms can be collected from the Reception Counter of the NEHU Administrative Building, Permanent Campus, Shillong or from the NEHU Tura Campus office. The form can also be obtained through post. For obtaining the form by post, a self addressed stamped envelope [for Rs 10.00 (Rupees ten only)] may be sent well in advance to the Section Officer (Academic), North-Eastern Hill University, Permanent Campus, Mawkynroh Umshing, Shillong 793 022, Meghalaya. The application may also be downloaded from NEHU website(http://www.nehu.ac.in). The Application Form, duly filled-in along with the Convocation fee remitted in the form of Bank Draft/Bankers Cheque / NEHU Challan-counterfoil, should be addressed and submitted to the office of the Controller of Examinations, NEHU Permanent Campus, Mawkynroh Umshing, Shillong either in person during office hours or by post upto 1st October 2012 for candidates appearing In Person. Candidates desiring to apply for In Absentia can submit their applications only after 3rd October 2012 onwards .

NEHU Tura Campus office will only receive application forms submitted for In person upto 25th September 2012 . Any application received after the due date will not be entertained. COLLECTION OF CONVOCATION GOWNS: Issue of the Admission letter to the Convocation and distribution of Convocation Gowns will be made from the Office of the Controller of Examinations, NEHU Permanent Campus, MawkynrohUmshing, Shillong from 25th October to 1st November 2012 during office hours.

Names of recipients of Gold Medals / Special Awards / Book Prizes / Merit Prizes will be hosted in the University Website. The recipients are required to report the Assistant Registrar (PG), Examination Department, NEHU, Shillong from 25th October to 1st November 2012 during office hours.

DATE OF REHEARSAL: All candidates admitted to the Convocation are required to report at the Convocation Venue on 5th November 2012 at 1:00 PM for rehearsal.

RETURN OF CONVOCATION GOWNS AND COLLECTION OF CERTIFICATES: Degree Certificates may be collected from the office of the Controller of Examinations, NEHU Permanent Campus, Mawkynroh-Umshing, Shillong from 6th November 2012 onwards during office hours, after returning the Convocation Gowns. Return of gowns after the last date (9th November 2012) will entail a fine of Rs.20/- (Rupees twenty only) per working day. No Certificates will be issued without returning of the Gowns.
