    com/spanish/212-spanish-playing-cards-vocabulary/ What is generally known as playing cards in the English speaking world with 52 are technically of French design and below is their vocabulary in English and Spanish: Ace As Cards - Naipes Club/Clubs - Trbol/Trboles Diamond/Diamonds - Diamante/Diamantes Heart/Hearts - Corazn/Corazones Jack Sota King Rey Queen Reina Spade/Spades - Pica/Picas Suits Palos One of Hearts Uno de Corazones The Spanish Deck, otherwise known as the Baraja Espaola, consists of 48 cards divided into 4 suits (palos). The suits are Cups/Hearts (Copas), Coins/Diamonds (Oros), Clubs (Bastos) and Swords/Spades (Espadas). These cards, or naipes, are numbered from Ace (As) to 7, then 10 to 12. Card 10 is also known as the Jack (Sota), Card 11 as the Knight (Caballo) and Card 12 as the King (Rey).
