June 2012 To Whom It May Concern: It is my privilege to provide a strong and enthusiastic letter of recommendation for Christine Leake as an educator, a learning facilitator, an innovator, a student advisor and as a respected colleague in the academic community. Ms. Christine Leake is a highly valued member of our adjunct faculty, serving as instructor at the undergraduate level for both traditional and adult (non-traditional) students. She has successfully taught a wide variety of courses in business, ethics, management, communication, and psychology. During the several years that she has served on our faculty, she has quickly developed into a highly respected colleague and a much appreciated team player. Christine carries a part-time teaching load throughout the year, and has stepped in to teach special session courses in the summer as well. But in addition to the well-deserved praise Ms. Leake has earned as an instructor and colleague, she has also taken on the position of Admissions Coordinator for all programs under the School of Professional & Continuing Studies. In this new full-time position, she has demonstrated to those of us who work with her, that Christine is blessed with a sharp intellect, an acute focus on problem solving, an ability to digest information and concepts quickly and succinctly, and the skill to present ideas cogently and clearly. In the end, these abilities and attributes provide the professional means that will certainly carry Ms. Leake through to excellence in a teaching career, and success in an administrative career. I am also able to view Christine Leake through another distinct lens that of an attorney, a dean, a professor of business, a former professor of mathematics, and a faculty mentor to junior faculty members at our college. I stand as a blended professional and educator, carrying a life-long commitment to interdisciplinary studies and to the cross fertilization of professional studies with academic research. When I completed law school in mid-career, I practiced for a time on Wall Street, continued my pursuit of research, and emerged to become a tenured professor of law and management at a liberal arts college. Through these experiences, I am well-suited to evaluate a colleague like Christine Leake who combines teaching success with broad professional interests in administrative work in education, and doing so, I am able to unequivocally recommend Christine Leake for a position in academia. I urge you to give strong consideration to Christine Leake as you evaluate the credentials and experience of the candidates under your review. I assure you that your school will benefit tremendously from the talent, skills, and energy of Christine Leake.

Sincerely yours,
