THE COLLEGE REPUBLICANS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF AKRON


The purpose of the College Republicans at the University of Akron is to bring people into the Republican Party and to provide an opportunity for students to nd political expression and recognition on campus.

Our chapter has been recognized for our active involvement with Local, State, and National campaigns. We make great efforts to educate members about the Republican Party and cooperate in the election of worthy and qualified party nominees. ! Currently, we have many volunteer opportunities, with a variety of campaigns, established this election season. From now through Election Day, we will be focused primarily with getting Republican candidates elected into office. I encourage you to become active in this election because with your commitment to volunteerism we can ensure that this election is a success for the Republican cause! WELCOME WEEK

Buckeye Blitz
! The election is getting closer, the stakes couldn't be higher, and we cannot let America's Comeback Team down!We have Buckeye Blitz on Saturday, September 8th where all across Ohio volunteers will be participating in one of the largest grassroots initiatives. Join Team Ohio as we make phone calls and knock on doors for Mitt, Paul, and the Republican Team! ! We will be meeting at the Stow Victory Center HQs at 9am, you can come in the afternoon too, to walk doorto-door for the Romney campaign: transportation available for those who need it. ! There will be prizes given away to all those who volunteer for Buckeye Blitz:

100 door knocks, Romney/ Ryan Buckeye Blitz T-shirt 100 doors or 250 phone calls, autographed Romney bumper sticker 150 doors or 400 phone calls, autographed Romney rally sign There will be drawings for gift cards and other prizes ADDITIONALLY for every 50 doors knocked, you will be entered in a raffle to win tickets for the OSU v. Nebraska game October 6th courtesy of State Senator Frank LaRose. ! There will be an Italian ice party provided by Ritas at Noon & 3pm. Week of Welcome Events! This year the College Republicans participated in the Week of Welcome allowing our College Republican chapter to showcase our organization to potential members: helping us sign-up over 30 new members!

NEVER FORGET

9/11 Memorial Event Every year the College Republicans place 3,000 American Flags in remembrance of those who died on September 11th in the World Trade Center terrorist attacks.

Every year the College Republicans at the University of Akron continue to remember September 11th by hosting the 9/11 Memorial Event where students, faculty, and others join in remembering those who died in the World Trade Center terrorist attacks by placing 3,000 American Flags on campus. This year we will be holding the event in the Phi Delta Theta yard (Buchtel and Spicer intersection). Volunteers will be meeting at the Olin Hall parking lot on Monday, September 10th at 7:00am to start placing flags. Tear down and clean up will be on Wednesday, September 12th at 8:00am. Please consider signing up for this event, even if you only have a few minutes to place a couple of American flags in between classes.

Barley House Fundraiser & more!


The College Republicans will be hosting a fundraising event at The Barely House in downtown Akron on Wednesday, September 12th from 7-9:00pm. Come out and join the College Republicans as we recruit new member, socialize, and advocate for our cause. annual political conference, for 15 members. If our chapter makes 30,000 voter contacts, we will be able to attend a private Barley reception with the House Event: Ohio Republican Sept. 12th from Party. Volunteer Opportunities
Our primary focus, until Election day, is to work with Local, State, and Federal campaigns to get Republicans elected and to make voter contacts. The Ohio College Republican Federation (OCRF) is requesting that every region be responsible for a total of 100,000 voter contacts: 11,000 voter contacts for the University of Akron. The OCRF is once again doing the incentive program. If our chapter makes a minimum of 15,000 voter contacts, we will receive free transportation to the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), an
