2013 Psi State Convention Bulletin

Celebrating Forward Movers and Forward Thinkers

Pre-Convention Issue September 2012

From President Peggy McCall

Ah, convention time is approaching, and your convention team has been busy planning great things! Weve carefully selected a venue central to the state to make it easy for members to travel from every corner of Georgia. The Macon Centreplex and Macon Marriott City Center will not disappoint. The rooms, food, and convention location are simply the best, and you will be impressed with the level of hospitality that has put them on the map. Many will be honored at the state convention, including chapters, scholarship recipients, forward moving forward thinking women, chapter presidents, and the installation of new state officers for the next biennium! Convention is a time to network, make new friends, witness our great Society at work, and have lots of fun. We will have dynamic workshops, guest speakers, and a fabulous tour of Macons historic downtown. This will be a convention to remember, and we want you to be there April 5-7 to experience Delta Kappa Gamma at its best!

Oh, Dear! What Do I Wear?

Psi State Convention is approaching, and I just dont know WHAT to wear! If this worrisome thought has ever burdened your mind, have no fear! Here are a few suggestions to help you prepare your convention wardrobe: For the general and breakout sessions, bring something nice and comfortable, similar to how you would dress for school or an outing. Remember to bring a jacket or sweater since it gets cold during sessions. Wear COMFORTABLE SHOES! This is important. Walking from the hotel to the convention site and during tours can be tough on your feet, even though its a short distance. Take note and wear comfortable walking shoes! A Presidents Luncheon is held during convention. You should prepare to be a little more dressy for this occasion. A nice church-type outfit would be a good choice for the celebration. You will also need a HAT and a pair of GLOVES! A hat and gloves you say? Yes - thats correct! It is a hat and glove luncheon! A thrift, antique, or specialty store should have a neat set of gloves at a very reasonable price. It is really fun to dress up for a spot of tea, or in this case, LUNCH! The Presidents Banquet Saturday evening will be a fun time to unveil your nice formal or semi-formal dresses! Have you been holding on to a dress that you wore to your daughters or sons wedding? Or have you already purchased a dress and just need a place to wear it? Well, now is your chance! Pull it out of the closet and bring it to convention! And no need to wear your pins to the formal dress up and have a great time! But remember, No matter what you wear, we will be glad youre here! The goal of convention is to learn, enjoy, and become an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma! YOU are the main ingredient. We want to see you in Macon at the Psi State Convention in April, 2013! Bring a DKG friend and be a Forward Mover, Forward Thinker! Gail Ford, Psi State 1st Vice President
