4. REACTIVITY DATA
Ingestion: Can cause gastrointestinal irritation, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Aspiration of material into lungs can cause chemical
pneumonitis which can be fatal.
Carcinogenicity: Unrelated NTP: No IARC: No OSHA Regulated: No
Respiratory Protection: Organic vapor cartridge or supplied air respirators approved by NIOSH
Ventilation: Local Exhaust to control vapors. Special: Use explosion-proof equipment.
Protective Gloves: Neoprene or equivalent resistant gloves.
Eye Protection: Chemical splash goggles or face shield.
Other Protective clothing or equipment: PVC or equivalent resistant clothing if splashing is likely.
Work/Hygienic Practices: Use only in well ventilated areas unless recommended respiratory protection is used. Keep body contact and
splash to a minimum.
Eye Contamination: Flush with large amounts of water for 20 minutes lifting upper and lower lids occasionally. Get medical attention.
Skin contact: Thoroughly wash exposed area with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing. Launder contaminated clothing
before reuse.
Inhalation: If overexposure occurs, remove individual to fresh air. If breathing stops, administer artificial respiration. Get medical
attention.
Ingestion: If a large amount of material is swallowed DO NOT INDUCE VOMITING. If vomiting begins lower victim's head in an effort to
prevent vomit from entering lungs and get medical attention.
PHYSICIANS NOTE: Gastric lavage by qualified medical personnel may be considered, depending on quantity of material.
Small Spill: Absorb liquid on paper, vermiculite, floor absorbent or other absorbent material and transfer to hood.
Large Spill: Eliminate all ignition sources (flares, flames including pilot lights, electrical sparks). Persons not wearing protective
equipment should be excluded from area of spill until clean-up has been completed. Stop spill at source. Dike area of spill to
prevent spreading. Pump liquid into salvage tank. Remaining liquid may be taken up on sand, clay, earth, floor absorbent or other
absorbent material and shoveled into containers. Prevent run-off to sewers, streams, or other bodies of water. If run-off occurs notify
proper authorities, as required, that a spill has occurred.
Waste Disposal: Controlled incineration complying with federal, state, and local regulations.
Other Precautions: Use only in well-ventilated areas unless recommended respiratory protection is used.
Keep body contact and splash to a minimum. Do not cut empty steel drums with a welding torch. For
