Room 208 Update Week of September 17, 2012 Spring Street School Mrs.

Lubys class

This week the children will repond on our TemLuby Kidblog writing about their Grade 4 Hopes and Dreams. Parents-feel free to assist your child with entering their responses. As the year continues, this is a great time for the children to practice their word processing skills. Passwords will be sent home on Monday. Homeworkopology will begin soon. The children can win small prizes for completing their homework on a regular basis! If you are out and about and see any inexpensive packages of pencils or bookmarks or other small trinkets, we could use them for our Homeworkopology bucket! Calling all Volunteers!

Spelling begins this week-as we progress, spelling lists will be differentiated through Words Their Way. *Children can choose a book to read from our class library to read in class and to also bring home to read for Genre Bingo!

Writing

We will complete our Summer Reading persuasive writing pieces on Monday. Then we will work in small groups on another piece before heading into narrative writing. Math The children will complete EDM Unit 1 Open Response before heading into BIG NUMBERS!

EVERYDAY MATH FAMILY LETTERS can be found on-line this year! As in past years, they contain unit vocabulary, activities, and selected homework answers.
