Context This program offers a variety of classes online to high school students that they are required to have for graduation for FREE. They can either take the classes for initial credit or for credit recovery. These students have to be enrolled in a public or private school within the state (or homeschool), and they do not receive a diploma from this program, they will just earn course credits from SCVSP. The students, however, can only take up to 3 units of credit per year with SCVSP or a total of 12 units towards their high school diploma. This program offers courses throughout several sessions including fall, spring, year long, and summer. Specifically for my internship, I plan to work with the teachers in the science department. I will help with their course redevelopment in their Physical Science course. The project available for me to help with would be taking text from an editable textbook site and using it to create interactive lessons in Soft Chalk to replace what is currently being used which is simply linking to the textbook website. Learning Goals and Objectives During the internship, I will develop and refine my skills, knowledge and ability to: Physical Science course development Creating interactive lessons in Soft Chalk program Learning to manipulate an online editable textbook site Creating a Flexbook on CK12 site Responsibilities and Tasks To achieve my objectives, I will: Take content listed in the CK-12 online Physical Science textbook, align it to the South Carolina High School Science Standards, and update the existing standards alignment document.

Take content listed in the CK-12 online Physical Science textbook and use it to create interactive lessons in Soft Chalk for each section of material.
