LO Expose students to a simple experiment and introduce them to the concepts of keeping a record, providing evidence and measurement. By guiding students through a simple experiment(dissolving salt in water of varying temperatures) students explore the importance of record taking. Differentiation: Lower ability students will be paired with students capable of completing the assignment. Teacher supervision and assistance to be given as needed. Higher level students will be encouraged to fully explain what they observe and asked to provide conclusions.

Grammar focus: - use the correct punctuation marks in a sentence. (capital letters, full stop, question mark and exclamation mark.)

Unit of Inquiry Students will perform various refresher activities to remind/introduce them to the attributes of the Learner Profile. Bus stop activity where students add words and pictures to the various attributes. Students identify various Learner attributes from a story that they read with a partner. Together they identify the attribute and explain what/how the event occurred.

Arabic:

Reading LO - Practice their reading and provide teacher with evidence for appropriate reading level Individual readings with students will be utilized to provide teachers with vital information for leveling their students. Assessment: Anecdotal notes with be made to track student understanding. Understanding will be observed fully during next weeks activity of preparing and performing skits that display attributes of the profile.
