Uloga standardizacije u postizanju konkurentske prednosti Uslov za trgovinu na meunarodnom tritu je usaglaenost nacionalnih standarda sa meunarodnim sistemom kvaliteta.

Evropska organizacija za kvalitet je promovisala svoju viziju kvaliteta, kojom se kvalitet integrie u sve drutvene oblasti i predstavlja sutinu opstanka i razvoja evroske integracije. Sistem kvaliteta EU ne samo da objedinjuje postupke upravljanja poslovnih procesa i kvaliteta ivota, ve ima znaajnu marketinku dimenziju u uslovima slobodne konkurencije. Standardizacijom se postie unapreenje kvaliteta proizvoda, to uz snienje trokova i poveanje produktivnosti, omoguava bolji trini pristup. Iz tih razloga 84% svetskog biznisa u svom poslovanju koristi evropske i meunarodne standarde, kao deo strategije za izvoz. Primenom standardizacije je unapreena razmena informacija i roba, a posebno internacionalizacija poslovanja. Rezultat ovih procesa je i ekonomska strana standardizacije: Makroekonomski uticaj na rast bruto drutvenog proizvoda iznosi 1% godinje i Mikroekonomski uticaj na poveanje profita.
