With explicit stances against LGBT rights, unionized labor, a woman's right to choose, and more, Kentucky Farm Bureau is likely our state's largest anti-Fairness lobbying group, unbeknownst to most of its members and employees. For the past several years, the Fairness Campaign has made it part of our mission at the Kentucky State Fair to raise public awareness of KFB's policies and hopefully have them removed. Lining the buffet in blue Fairness shirts detailing the company's discriminatory positions, our protest garnered coverage from each local news station and pushed a KFB spokesperson to finally address the issues on record. WHAS-11's Joe Arnold pressed Daniel Smaldone on whether or not the policies are up for debate: "That's for our membership to decide," he finally said. Let us hold them to that! Continue contacting KFB to let them know you oppose their anti-Fairness efforts!

She recently joined other local leaders to address Berea's Mayor and City Council, where they celebrated the one-year anniversary of the city's Human Rights Commission and urged officials to bring a local anti-discrimination Fairness ordinance to a vote. Meanwhile in Richmond, the city commission is moving more slowly than their Berean neighbors to protect lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender residents, but they are moving forward nonetheless! Following an incident of discrimination against a young lesbian couple in E.C. Million Park, hundreds of Richmond residents rallied before city hall and called on Mayor Jim Barnes and the commission to pass a local Fairness law. Commissioner Blythe, along with other officials, suggested it was finally time to take up the issue. They are currently weighing "all sides" of the Fairness debate to determine next steps. In the meantime, Grigg and other locals will keep up the pressure!
