Speed Olympics serves up food with a side of fun

The annual Speed Olympics
were held on June 14 and June 15
in front of the J.B. Speed building.
The event was organized by Mich-
ele Harpring, the current Director
of Student Activities for Speed
School Student Council.
Speed Olympics included a
variety of events including: water
balloon toss, tug of war, pie eating
contest, water balloon accuracy
throw, putt putt accuracy, 3-legged
race, and dizzy bat relay. These
events were held over two days.
Speed School summer sports league off to great start

The summer sports league spon-
sored by Speed School Student coun-
cil is well underway. The two sports
which students can participate are
Volleyball and Ultimate Frisbee.
Volleyball is starting its third week of
play with two remaining. Ultimate
Frisbee is starting its second week of
play with three remaining.
Currently, the league games are
being held, but upon the conclusion of
normal season games, the tournament
for each sport will begin. An updated
schedule is available outside of the
council office in J.B. Speed.

On Friday June 15,
free food was provide by
the Student Activities
Board for all who at-
tended. The food in-
cluded both veggie and
meat burgers, hotdogs,
chips, and a drinks. The
grill out started a little
before 11:30AM and
lasted until 2:00PM. Stu-
dents, faculty, and staff
all enjoyed the social
gathering, the events, and Matt Bergman participates in the pie eating contest,
the beautiful weather. one of the events held during Speed Olympics.
