EVENT REPORT
2
Time is the continuing sequence of events occurring in apparently irreversible succession from the past through the present to the future .Time keeps changing, and its blistering pace can be observed nowadays in our own college as well . However, with the time passing , almost all the individuals LINKEDIN to our college , are haunted by a perennially insolvable dilemma.its actually a crucial case of identity crisis!!!
THE QUESTION- Who are we??(actually finally, essentiallyits better if I say nothing!!)

Kecians[Hell yeah!! :) ]VCTKecians..[?].BTKITians[ :P ?????] Without being too nostalgic ( though there is a lot in a name), Ill leave the answers to everyone around me!! (Come onatleast I careunlike the rest few people who dont even give a damn!!! You may call them Kittens.and they dont mind. :P) Anyways,no matter how black the Dark side iswe must still carry the torch of our hope for the best..But I still wonder what is all this fear of and opposition to Oblivion? What is the matter with the soft Darkness, the Dreamless Sleep? Irrespective of the perspective to which one may concur, the survival mechanism is more or less the same and it still instills the nave souls with the real courage to sustain with his own creative bonhomie behavior. Hence every issue of long awaited DERNIER CRI has its own way out). However some paradox may appear with the pristine and antiquated versions, still both can be considered as an esteemed outcomes of the THINK OUT OF THE BOX minds. As we dive more into the dreams, last year set a milestone in itself with students entangled in the web world in their own hostel rooms : thanks to the LAN connections which finally came! Au Contraire to what we have heard from our seniors about the college, nowadays there is a lot of self help materials circulating in the college.purple leap conducting classes.the spiritual and yogic classes followed by a booster art of living programme Another difference is that earlier a lot many colours where seen in collegenow purple and pink dominates with some shades dominate The college has coped up to display an all girls band performance :) As a norm (NOW) the nine to five hours saw the hustles of hostlers to the classes in their full bloomwondering its cause and effect relation in every iota of an idle second!! Yes there are still uncertain times and the darkness loomed even deeper last time; but are we uncertain? May be shaken but definitely not stirred. Like Rafiki said in the Lion King, Oh yes, the past can hurt. But you can either run from it, or learn from it. And always remember, whenever learning gets over, a master rises !!

EVENT REPORT
Everything that passes becomes a history but every history cannot find the pages for itself. The session 2011-12 is lucky to find the pages for itself. We want that each year of BTKIT must find the pages for itself; in fact each day of BTKIT must find page for itself!! So with lots of hope for an unprecedented future we present the pages of history decorated with the golden words... Some flashbacks.
UGC ARRIVAL A team of University Grants Commission visited BTKIT. After interacting with the student and a strict inspection for two days, our college has became an autonomous college.
BRANCH ACCREDITATION The Computer science department left no stone unturned on the arrival of National Board of Accreditation. The reward granted was the accreditation of the branch by A grade.
SAVI ORIENTATION- The Savi fraternity welcomed the 2011-2015 batch students. The sessions was quite interactive with students sitting in different rooms in LTC due to large strength. The SAVI classes were at flow with many enthusiastic SAVIANs being regular till the cts tensions crushed their zeal.
YES+: By the initiative of 1st students, yes+ was able to reach our remote college on 30th March. Though the participants were only 80, it was a wonderful experience full of fun and frolic with lots of teachings.5 days which taught our mind and heart are our slavesand 10 groups of students were boosted to prepare 3 dishes in 15 minutes and a skit in 5 minutes!!
A WET ADIEU-Our most venerated activity of KIT, saw some wet eyes as some of our seniors, were bided farewell from SAVI on 6th of May.
THE LAST ADIEU- The seniors where in best of their moods while the juniors left no stone unturned to make them smile giving each of them bunches of memories on 4th June. Amidst all this it took no time for the mph to be converted into DJ floor.
@NOBLE CAUSE- Some students were still in college for the blood donation camp and participated actively in the NSS camp on 5th June. Contributing more to the nation our college will have students in NSS too apart from NCC.

NOVEL REVIEW
MOON AND THE SIX PENCE
W.SOMERSET MAUGHAM
The Moon and Sixpence by William Somerset Maugham is a novel loosely based on the life of painter, Paul Gauguin. This is one of the most interesting books I have ever read because of the eccentric set of people the story revolves around. The protagonist, Charles Strickland, abandons his job as a stockbroker, his family of four, and his entire life in England unannounced to pursue painting in France, despite having shown no interest in painting in his entire life. In this transitional move to France he becomes indifferent to people and their emotions. Strickland is absolutely brutal to himself, to anyone who tries to help him, and especially anyone who loves him. All that matters to him is creating art, to the point that he nearly kills himself by spending the little money he has on supplies, rather than food. Questioned about the motives behind his desertion, and subsequent refusal to return home, Strickland simply replies: I want to paintI cant help myself. When a man falls into the water it doesnt matter how he swims, well or badly: hes got to get out or else hell drown, Some could consider him cruel, while others find his honesty refreshing, but, either way, he shows no affection to those who enter his life or those who leave it. The book follows Strickland and his work from France to Tahiti, where the story ends. Stricklands unwillingness to compromise for his pursuit of art is unbelievable. The quotes like every person in this world wears a mask which no one judges except him, and in due course of time it becomes his identity leaves reader with philosophical note. Despite denying himself the title Maugham has exactly that which greatest writers alone can give, namely an extraordinary insight into the human psyche and an aesthetic sensibility to transliterate it with great intelligibility. The character descriptions were the best part of the novel . Maugham did a wonderful job making his characters come to life and play with the reader's emotions. Strickland could easily be viewed as the villain in this novel because of his attitude, but is to be respected for his ingenuity .Maugham challenges audiences to decide for themselves what they believe is "right" or "wrong" in the story, and, because of this, readers must take an active role in the novel. The point Maugham makes throughout the book is that true happiness depends upon ourselves , and for Strickland that means fulfilling the disturbing vision in his soul whatever the cost. The Moon in Sixpence, overall, was well worth the read. It leaves the reader with questions of what is morality and has the capability to change ones perspective completely. A must read for voracious readers and believe me you will find it one of the best novels ever.

No sense being pessimistic. It wouldn't work anyway !!
ALUMNUS INTERVIEW
1. What was the procedure for selection in SAP Labs? How many rounds & the selection criteria? The selection procedure keeps varying. But broadly it has a written paper and few rounds of interviews. There was a written paper (objective only) with following sections: English Reasoning Technical
As there is no predefined format for paper so there is no point in explaining the kind of questions were asked. All questions were not so easy, so I can say that I got lucky.. After that there were three rounds of interview. Technical Interview Managerial Interview HR Interview
I was asked some basic stuff in the technical round based on database design, simple queries, basic concepts of OOPS and some basic data structure related things like linked lists. As main development in SAP is based on ABAP generally knowledge of any specific language is not checked unless the team you are being interviewed for works specifically on java or C++ or even python. Apart from that few puzzles were also asked. Simple puzzles which one usually comes across in newspapers. Some what-if scenario questions were asked with simple "do good" answers. So that round was pretty easy as all answers were obvious. Managers try to check your behavioural aspects in such rounds, so it's always better to come up with answers which closely match to your personality traits, or to the traits you have written down on the piece of paper called as resume. The key, I suppose, is to be confident on what you answer and if required you should be able to justify it. And it's always good to switch sides if there are "too many" good counter-arguments from the manager because there is nothing wrong with accepting that you may have erred in your judgement. In HR interview the HR manager goes through your rsum and asks some usual stuff like about your family, your hobbies, what you want to achieve in life, how you are suitable for the job. It's not expected that you know A to Z about SAP, which no one knows anyway, but one should be clear about what SAP does and where it stands. P.S. SAP is not spelled as sap but as ess-aay-pee. Few people can be very particular about it :)
2. What were the companies requirements & what do you think it was looking in candidates? The requirement from a fresher are the usual ones like good academic background (aka 70% in B.Tech.) preferably from Computers or related branches. From last year SAP Labs has started campus recruitment
from the "top colleges" but still there is always some or the other openings suitable for freshers in SAP Labs.
3.What were your strategies like books, papers etc. for interviews? To tell the truth I had taken only two books to Bangalore, once i decided to go there to search for a job, one was Computer Networks and the other was System Programming. But i never opened any of them. They must still be lying somewhere gathering dust. So i didn't followed any strategy. But i believe the only strategy to be followed is to stick to the basics, make the fundamentals strong and be little honest with yourself. Although this is the 'ideal' strategy it can be little tricky to follow. Whatever you do just don't just eat the books digest them also.
4. Please share your experience at the company hitherto. My experience at SAP Labs has been a very good one. There are a lot of opportunities to learn and explore new things. There is always something new going on in the office campus. As a technology company people think that most of the activities will be purely technical. But that is not the case in SAP Labs, the activities going in the campus encompass the whole spectrum. Whatever be your hobby or interest there will be some activity you'll
5. Can a fresh recruit expect growth opportunities & how friendly & encouraging is the work atmosphere? I guess anyone with good potential can expect growth opportunities wherever they maybe in their experience-level. Talking about my team, the work atmosphere is very good. People here are very good, encouraging and always helpful. There is no binding working hours, but as a matter of professional ethics one shouldn't always be out-of-office. And as a whole the work atmosphere through-out SAP is good. People are not forced to do work but they are motivated to do so!
6. Any additions? Pros and Cons for the company? The work culture here is very easy going which, according to some, is very bad for starters as you get a taste for it and later on it becomes to adjust to work culture elsewhere. Some say that at SAP people get spoilt and they can't go anywhere else. Personally i don't agree to that. I believe if you work properly you can adjust to any situation anywhere. But i also believe that working under more stressed conditions we learn more and we learn quick. After all it's all about making your choices! You ask anyone who is not working in SAP Labs, why would you like to go to SAP Labs, one of the more oft answer you will hear is, "Free Food!" That maybe one of the reasons to join SAP Labs but not the only one. 8. Words for juniors & Savians . Wherever you go, whichever company work for, try to learn as much as possible. Because there is always something more to learn. Best Wishes for your future!
The avant-garde musicians who excel in all forms are a big nuisance to those who prefer to dwell deep into some Photostat notes or yellowed books. However there is an inspiring applauding crowd which gushes against the winds to applaud the new waves of talents who are well equipped with their gadgets..the guitars. Finally arrives the days of trail when talents are co ordinate with the musical nodes and chords.. And then a dawn comes when the curtain rises to blow a breath of fresh air. However its not a pristine concept to galvanize the hiding talents into a live performance still every stage show has its own story!! Its omnipotent that exams are the times in which all the colors are broadcasted in air (off course exams deals with the broadcasting and modulation methods..i am an eceian)..still the hopes and dreams about the next exam management and strategies always shine more than the present plans!! Ah those ideas are so bright that they have power to fuse the Edisons bulb even before it was born
With horrendous hiding hurdles and ecstatic experiments the hopes bubble up in every college story (every engineer is at first the writer or a narrator of these stories to the juniors).and if it was not so essential to do grab a respectful placement soon there must me many authors of books because its the basic
instinct.after all semester exams do provide us an internship in writing skills or in expressing a simple thought in a variety of complex and confusing ways such that it has an aesthetic appeal and the examiner is persuaded for a higher standard of marks!! The best part is when a teacher is nostalgic about his experiments which have already occurred once upon a time in his college and this is what provides him with an interesting intuition of how his students must be completing the projects..hence comes the constraints involved in not so easy assignments and projectseven God Google fails at the rescue of students!! Cheerfully with the smiling tears bigger hopes start creeping inside and this chapter of life gets over to welcome another chapter of hopelessness in hopes when the corporate culture rings the doorbell.. So end is there to ensure that a new beginning gets a space.so lets wait for next edition of cri.. With DOUBLE dOsE Of Cheers!!! {One CHEERS for this cri..another CHEERS of being KECian}
