A Railway is a linear site
The length is 264km. The width of the
limits of deviation varies from 25m to 200m.
The Ruwais Branch is 9km long from the
coast crossing the E11 highway and the
Ruwais highway bypass to join the Al
Gharbia Mainline.
The Al Gharbia Mainline is located adjacent
to the E11 Highway varying in offset from
2km near Ruwais to 500m near Tarif. The
main line section is 110km long.
The Shah Branch is 144km long from the
Al Gharbia Mainline near Tarif through
Madinat Zayed and Mezairaa to the Shah
gas field.

Union Railway will create a modern, safe, efficient and value
adding railway network in the UAE for freight and passengers.
The freight network will form part of a seamless logistics
network
The passenger network will open up new journey opportunities
and support continued growth and development
The UAE will take the opportunity to incorporate good practice
but solutions will be relevant for the local context
