uite a few lawns in Chesterfield Village were recently decorated with little flags and paint marking utility and electric lines. Most of the marked sites are scheduled to receive trees later this year.
o you know when to put out your trash any more? It can seem confusing, especially after the neighborhood switched trash pick-up from Tuesdays to Fridays over the summer.
Come dressed up and ready to play games and eat pizza. Drinks are also provided. Young children will be attending the party, so keep your costume family -friendly!
Troy Powell, coordinator of the City of Springfields NeighborWoods Program, visited all of the marked locations with NeighborWoods Committee Chairperson Melissa Wittmer on September 24, 2012 to determine if the proposed planting sites were situated too close to marked utilities. Fortunately, most of the planting sites were in the clear.
Friday trash pick-up created headaches for homeowners traveling over the weekend. Also, any weekday holiday caused a one-day delay in pick-up, requiring residents to put out the trash on Saturdays.
Planting is scheduled for sometime in December. However, if the drought persists, planting will delayed. Updates will be posted on the Chesterfield Village Facebook page and in newsletter editions.
After hearing multiple complaints from CV residents, Allied Waste agreed to change trash-pick up to Mondays. This will commence on Monday, October 15. Allied Waste will notify homeowners of the change during scheduled trashpick up days by leaving a notification on dumpsters. At the time of printing, it wasnt clear if recycling would be moved on Mondays. Please check Facebook for an update or call Board member Jennifer Choi at 954.240.9434.
All planting sites will be marked two more times the week of planting so that the City can give its final approval to plant the trees. At that time, homeowners who are receiving trees will also need to mark their irrigation lines. These are not marked by Missouri One Call and homeowners are responsible for having these areas clearly marked.
If you are new to the neighborhood and need to get on the list for trash pick up, contact Allied Waste at 417.865.1717 and tell them you are a resident of Chesterfield Village. Please note that the covenants require trash bins to be stored out of view from the street on days when trash is not being collected.
