I. (4 points) Restaurant Review: Troubleshooting Report April 30, 2012 Mr. Nick Faraone, Owner Pajanos Pizza & Subs 1305 Gulf Boulevard Indian Rocks Bch, FL 33785 Dear Mr. Faraone, As you know, I recently visited your establishment as a mystery consumer in order to report back to you with an accurate, unadulterated report on the operations of your restaurant. I arrived at Pajanos on Friday, April 27th at approximately five oclock in the evening in order to carry out this task. Cars were parked in all but one of the five available parking spaces, and some bikes parked out on the porch of the building. As the building is on the smaller side the premises was packed, with all but one of the five available tables open. The TV was set to ESPN which most of the patrons seemed to appreciate. There were three workers on duty to take orders and make food. My order was taken very quickly thanks to your restaurants method of order here, pay here, and the girl taking my order was very efficient; all in all it took about 20 minutes to receive my food. The environment of the establishment was pleasant for those who enjoy the laid back, family feel that a local pizza place offers; it isnt fancy, but it doesnt pretend to be. The food itself was delicious and made just to my liking, and the free refills were much appreciated as well. Overall, everyone in the restaurant including myself was very happy with the environment and the service. I must mention, however, that I did observe a major violation of policy during my visit. I brought my father with me to have dinner, and as he is a middle-aged male he is naturally not asked for identification when ordering an alcoholic beverage; however, when my father was given his pitcher of beer he was also given two glasses, one of which was presumably for myself who is under the legal drinking age. I was not asked for my I.D., nor was my father even asked if he needed two glasses in the first place. Giving alcohol to a minor is certainly a serious offence, and could result in serious consequences if it occurs in the future. I feel as though it would certainly behoove your business if you review company (and legal) policy with your employees to ensure that they are aware of the need to card anyone who doesnt clearly appear to be over the age of forty and thus avoid any potential trouble in the future. Pajanos is a restaurant that is locally loved and respected, but as a businessman Im sure that you are aware that there is always room for improvement. The major
I. (4 points) Restaurant Review: Troubleshooting Report improvement I would recommend you make as the owner is to provide more parking for your patrons. Your restaurant is a popular one, and with only five places allotted for customers to park in, it is clear that this may be one of the major reasons you lose business. I understand that not much room is available on the beach to expand, but I did notice that adjacent to your business there is a convenience store with ample parking that is rarely being used. Perhaps you could arrange a business deal in which the store allows you to utilize a portion of its extra space in exchange for a cut of your revenue. In addition, I would suggest that you make the sign in front of your building more prominent; maybe adding a sign that can be seen from the street would be helpful in drawing more customers in. I enjoyed my time as a mystery consumer for your restaurant, and I hope my comments have helped you gain better insight into how your business operates.
