AIX Platform Support Lead - Subject Matter Expert (SME) Position -4

Job description A Senior-level technical expert, with primary focus on managing Unix systems, with T shaped skills. Depth of knowledge in AIX, with breadth of skills in database, SAP, storage and networking. Role of the Sr technical expert is to perform a lead role for a large technical team and also to solution construct, plan, implement and trouble complex Unix environment. As a senior leader, should be capable of handling critsits and manage client over calls and face to face. ## Duties & Responsibilities: # Thought leadership in developing new techniques and methods for managing complex environment. Drawing upon concepts of tools, technologies and methodologies to collaborate with other technical specialists when carrying out assigned duties. # Effective negotiation with Clients on all changes and additions to the environment. # Maintaining skills to the current industry level of certification and to mentor and up skill the team. # Recognizing and articulating job related problems to management. # Analyzing technical problems related to core area or to the related setup in the clients environment and finding optimal solutions to address the issues, # Performing assigned tasks in accordance with established standards and guidelines. # Challenging the validity of given procedures and processes with the intent to enhance and improve a customer solution.

# Assisting in the identification of new service opportunities. # Skills on managing the a project assisting Project Manager by providing a technical expertise and run the project in the absence of a PM # Abiding by Change Management and Problem Management procedures, including complying with the Service Level Agreements as documented in the Problem Severity matrix. # To able to perform in 24 x 7 Environment in shift roaster # To able to attend calls on-call basis whenever assigned # Create regular reports for Management requirements. ## Work Experience: # Overall 10+ years of Unix System Administration Experience out of which at least 4 Years as a Team lead for large unix (AIX) environment. # AIX Certification / HACMP Certification / TSM ## Mandatory: # Able to front end the technical team and be able to present to the client. #Adequate Knowledge of UNIX/LINUX Platform, and strong fundamentals # Strong Knowledge & Experience in AIX. # In depth understanding of trouble shooting & AIX Commands # Strong experience in interfacing of external devices like Storage, Networking and backup devices

# Experience on the following layered products(in two or more) of the following products is Mandatory. - HACMP -VIOS - HMC/LPARs - NIM - SP/PSSP/CSM # Capability to lead and plan Security setup for unix and related systems. # Strong concepts of networking like TCP / IP # Added experience in DCE/DFS, LDAP, Workload balancing, Power5 virtualization. # Qualification: - Engineering Degree from Premier Institute(Electronics, Computer Science etc., OR - Masters degree in Computer Science/ Equivalent Degree OR ## General Skills: # Good Communication(Oral & Written) skills is essential able to face executives and clients # Ability of quickly analyze & diagnose the problem # Lead the team, Hardworking & Ready to learn # To participate & Work with Local & Global Team # Ready to take additional challenges # Creativity and Judgment applied to professional, technical or operational problem Job Location : Hyderabad, Bangalore & Chennai
