GIRLS VOLLEYBALL Coach Schuberg and our middle school girls are having a blast, especially with the recent win over St. Mary Magdalen School! Stay tuned to the Blue Letter for schedule updates. Next Game: TUES, Oct. 16th at HOME v. Sacred Heart 3:30 PM and THUR. Oct. 18th at HOME v. Holy Cross. GALA NEWS Still needed: Sponsorships, Program Ads and PREMIER RESERVE Auction Items. Many wonderful items are starting to arrivebeautiful baskets, unique items and vacation lodgings. Please bring your items in soon so Mrs. Orellana can get them all organized and catalogued. The Auction Committee went to the Reagan Library this week to work on details like the sumptuous menu, elegant decorations (think 1940s Supper Club!) and to plan logistics for a smooth running evening. Reservations are starting to arrive daily in the mail, including some sponsorships. We still need to find some sponsors to help underwrite the costs for the evening so that every penny brought in on the night of the Gala goes to the school, so PLEASE SPREAD THE SPONSORSHIP and PROGRAM AD word around! I am including FLYERS for both of these in the blue envelope, AND on email to make it easy to share. Here are a few items I have seen rolling through my office: Golf Basket. Western Basket. Lodge in Lake Arrowhead. Cottage in Big Bear. Condo in Carmel. Wine for the wine table. Collector Watches. And from the unique, but useful categoryfor the right person a certificate from one of the leading vascular surgeons in the region for spider or varicose vein ablation worth up to $7,000. How about a plane ride, pasta machine or lovely painting? Keep the wonderful items coming! Ora Pro Nobis: Let us remember to pray for one another. In thanksgiving for a successful Jog-A-Thon. For the soul of the Mohun, Kaiser and Loughman childrens great aunt, Mrs. Louise Pinamonti, who died on the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, to whom Louise had an abiding devotion.. For Miss MaryLou Charlton, great aunt of the OConnors. For a special intentions for the Leon, Slaga and Loughman families. For Mr. Pat Ramirez, Mr. Joseph Kern, and friends of the Voogds. Let us pray for the health of Rosie Grimm, Angel Castillo and Paul Warnert. Prayers for a friend of the school whose mother is terminally ill. Prayers for the total healing of George Zaki. Finally, remember to pray for our country, our soldiers, and, for all priests and religious, especially our Archbishop Jose Gomez and Holy Father, Benedict. VERY PUNNY! What do you call a cow that just had a baby? Decalfinated. Why was the baby strawberry crying? Cause his mom and dad were in a jam. What did the buffalo say to his son when he left for college?
