ENABLE LOGGING IN COGNOS APP ON IPAD

Enabling logging in the Cognos iPad App can help to test MHT files and compare the load/response time compared to different file sizes. The steps given below describe how to enable logging.

1. Go to the Setting Menu of the iPad. 2. From the Apps Section Click on IBM Cognos 3. Click on the Support Setting for IBM Cognos App.

4. Turn on the Logging. 5. Select Network option from the Level of Detail Section.

6. Connect your iPad to PC through iTunes. 7. Navigate to Apps in iTunes on the PC. 8. Sync Apps Must be checked. Select the IBM Cognos Mobile from the iPad Apps list.

9. Select the IBM Cognos App from iTunes File Sharing Section. (You will see the app under this section only when you perform a App sync between the iPad and iTunes).

10. While the iPad is connected to iTunes, Open the Active Report that needs to be tested in the Cognos App on iPad. 11. Once the test is completed, Go the IBM Cognos App in iTunes on PC. Selected in Step 9. You will see SupportArtifacts folder Created. This folder will contain the latest log file.

12. Select the SupportArtificats folder and click on the Save to to save the log files on the PC. 13. From the Saved location, under SupportArtifcats folder open the mobile_ios.log file to view the logging details. Below Error Message in the Log file will indicate if the iPad is running out of memory due to high MHT file loading.
