Despite an economic slowdown and job cuts in some sectors, top Indian business schools put up a credible show

on placements. Average starting salaries ranged between R10 lakh and R16 lakh. The management students, who are mostly men with engineering degrees, preferred employment in finance, marketing and consulting. Employers were a diverse batch, from Bank of America and Flipkart.com to Yes Bank and German gaming firm Plinga.
