2012 Best Looking Lube

First Place: Fast Eddys, Meridian, Idaho

The earth tones and consistent theme throughout made Havoline xpress lube of Meridian, Idaho, the Best Looking Lube for 2012. The colors and floors were a big hit with our panel of judges. I love the consistent theme throughout with the tile flooring and brown and orange colors, one judge noted. One judge couldnt get enough of this shop. To me, this shop has a lot to offer with clean bays and comfortable looking chairs in the waiting room. Its just beautiful. The unique architectural design was a hit, as well. I love the different levels on the outside of the building, one judge commented. It looks very abstract and interesting; not your typical lube shop. Another judge was blown away with the look as a whole. The tile throughout and the look of the bays and waiting area looks more like an office building than a lube shop. It exudes professionalism, which is nice to see. I would definitely take my own car to this shop. The size of this shop thrilled another judge. This is a huge complex and looks like a shopping mall instead of a lube center, and tile in the bays? Very chic.

Second Place: Valvoline Express Care, Pleasantville, New Jersey

This Valvoline Express Care located in Pleasantville, New Jersey, wowed our judges with its unique design, impressive waiting area and spotless bays. The front of the store is immaculate, one judge noted. I like the peculiar architecture, and bright, naturally-lit waiting area. Another judge thought the waiting area was very inviting and comfortable. I love the skylights, because all of the natural light makes the waiting area look even bigger than it would already seem, had it been completely closed in. This waiting area would make me feel very comfortable and at ease as a customer. Not to mention all of the amenities this shop provides. I can shop while I wait for my car to be serviced, or read a book in the cozy sitting area. Several judges agreed that the landscaping was very eye appealing. The flowers surrounding the building were very nice to look at and would encourage me to pull my car in for an oil change, one judge noted.

Third Place Tie: Texas Express Lube & Auto, Luling, Texas
This Texas-themed lube center thrilled the judges with its interesting rustic touches. I love the Texas stars on the chairs and exterior of the shop, one judge commented. Overall it looks like an old-timey hitching post of some sort, which intrigues me. The bathroom door is a fantastic touch! Another judge thought this shop had some neat intricacies, as well. The tin siding goes really well with the overall theme, and the brands on the walls really complement the overall look. The judges also appreciated the convenient access to the shop from the highway, as well as the nice, clean bays. This shop looks like it is located right next to the highway, making it convenient for customers to pull in, one judge said. I also like the branding of the shop. Im sure this really resonates well with its Texan customers.

Third Place Tie: Kwik Kar, Fort Worth, Texas

The kid-friendly area and fresh flowers in the lobby helped this Kwik Kar from Fort Worth, Texas tie for third place. The judges felt right at home when gazing upon the photos. I could just go in and sit with a good book and a nice cup of coffee without having my car serviced, one judge noted. It looks to be a comfortable lobby to spend the afternoon in and my kids could be occupied, too! Another judge loved the stone on the exterior. The stone on the outside of the shop is very eye appealing.

Honorable Mention: Posh Lube, Deptford, New Jersey

The unique and modern edge of Posh Lube in Deptford New Jersey was a big hit with our judges. I love the open windows in the waiting area where you can watch TV and your car being serviced at the same time, one judge said. Posh doesnt look like a typical lube shop, which may draw in more customers. The bright colors caught the eye of many of our judges. I love the color scheme, one judge noted. Its very pleasing to the eyes and gives off an edgy, professional, unique vibe.

Honorable Mention: Oil Can Henrys, Soquel, California

This Oil Can Henrys charm helped garner it votes. The cabin-looking exterior and woodsy feel was comforting to our judges. This shop just looks like a place you would want to call home. I love the welcoming and inviting exterior, one judge commented. Another judge agreed. This shop looks like a quaint little shop that would be delightful to spend time in. It certainly draws me in, as Im sure it does customers. Another judge loved the logo and color scheme. The bright orange logo looks great against the maroon and stone background. Not necessarily colors you would think go together, but definitely works for them and is readable to drivers on the road.
