Every Child is Special If you are a teacher and deals with children everyday 'Every Child is Special '

will definitely move you! A film that touches my emotion. It involves issues on family, school and teacher-student relationship. The movie starred by the producer himself Aamir Khan and Darsheel Safary helps me to refresh my dedication for teaching. It relives the passion I have for young learners specially those who have special needs.I can relate to the movie because I am currently a substitute teacher in a private school that caters the different intelligences of students although my major concentration is not special education. I'm a volunteer and been exposed to children with disabilities since 2008 and the movie simply brought me to tears. The story is about a third-grade pupil who keeps failing his subjects and acts slightly different from children at his age. All the people around Ishan are disappointed in his school performance including his own parents. They then decided to transfer him to a boarding school where he became completely inactive in school activities. Last November 8, the local news in my city reported that a 15-year old named Dexter with special needs is beaten by a prison guard and a teacher made me feel so bad. "Budoy" is a Philippine prime time TV show which features a special child and it strikes my heart every time I hear anybody like them who is belittled and under treated by people who suppose to be behaving better than these children who needs assistance physically, mentally and emotionally. I highly recommend this movie to parents for them to have better understanding on their children. Through watching this movie they will be able to get more involved in the development of their children as well as to give more importance on their studies.'Every Child is Special' is suited to every teacher. Each learner has his own growth and maturity and the Indian movie will remind us to know and understand our student. Not all teachers could see the problems a student is facing. The movie highlights a mentor's real purpose- not just to impart knowledge but to nurture the gift a child has by looking at him as a person since every child is indeed special in the eyes of God and man. EVERY LITTLE CHILD IS SPECIAL: A REACTION I had this review founded on the aspect of guidance and counseling with special education. So, what you'll read is focused on how the teacher helped the child recover from his learning disability and on how the parents do their part to contribute to the recovery of Ishaan. Henry Adams pined A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops. True. A teacher doesnt know when and how his impact to his students lasts. The movie was a Bollywood film starred, directed and produced by Aamir Khan. It was a story of a child who, at first, showed no interest in his studies because of his being dyslexic until a dedicated art teacher came as a substitute to an on-leave instructor when Ishaan (the child) was transferred to a boarding school after his father was able to find out his sons performance. Teacher Ram Shankar Nikumbh (Aamir Khan) portrayed roles in teaching that were really applicable in todays situations in education. The way he used a naturalists view in teaching seemed to be best pragmatically utilize in the present time. His introduction of learning arts to his students (which include a freelance painting class) was definitely different to an essentialist teacher employing freethinking and naturalistic way of developing a childs ability to do things and produce exceptional artwork.

Employing a teachers skill in observation, he was able to see the defect in the childs behavior towards learning. He later found out by getting and tapping anecdotal records of Ishaan. That cued him that the child is having a learning disability known as dyslexia. By conducting such, he was able to figure out ways to bring the childs attention back and encourage him (Ishaan) by offering time to do the remedial himself to improve the childs capacity to learn because he, himself, has experienced the situation as he was once a dyslexic child before becoming a dedicated art and mentally-incapacitated-children teacher. On the other hand, the support the teacher got from the parents of the child is overwhelming apprehensive. The way the family gave much attention to education was an enough proof of a family with good ties. In analysis of the childs character, he paid nothing but bunking his classes, cant read because to him the letters are dancing, failed his subjects and repeated third grade, drew, ate, catch little fishes in the ponds he passed by, and sleep a total happy-go-lucky child. Through the movie, I was able to see the other side in teaching that is, reaching out. It isnt enough to chuckle, talk, discuss, scold, scare, shout, teach, and grade, but it is also about helping parents sort out the reasons why their children performed less in classes. And thats what Nikumbh did. When a child is found to have learning disabilities, parents should not tend, or have the slightest idea f jumping into conclusions and throwing-on in fits. It doesnt mean that they are the parents, they knew everything about their children. Real teachers, on the other hand, do not settle on mere chances of seeing a child fail an exam often, but on working how to clear things for the child to recover from his loses and compete back. I can say that the other teachers in the movie were just so mean and so adherent to the schools motto. Teachers should at least have the point of realizations on what is the right approach or technique to be used in a class full of energetic and hyperactive children or learners. He should be flexible while firm in his personality as a teacher to help develop his learners the capacity to do such also. The home visit he did is one of the notable factors in the movie. Through it, he was able to confirm his judgments and conclusions.

Every child has their own reasons of naughtiness and sometimes it doesnt mean they are by-nature wayward and mischievous. It could be because he lacks attention at home or the inevitability of times and personality problems. One should not be judgmental, instead, an encouragement and support to an average or the lower ones to be able to lift them up. Truly, that was a movie a child may or may not understand but one which every parent or teacher should watch for their children.
