Traditional Songs & Hymns

Music is a powerful form of expression. Not only does it communicate thoughts and ideas, but it also conveys emotions and feelings. Hymnology (the study of hymns) is tied to theology (the study of God), and where you have depth, you have height. Where you have a shallow theology, you have a shallow hymn knowledge. Where you have a superficial understanding of Biblical truth, you have superficial expression of it. Whenever you have a people, who have come to grips with the depths of Biblical truth, and who have glorious thoughts about God, produced by an understanding of the profound realities of Biblical truth, they're not content with a shallow expression. Set apart music or sanctified music may also be referred to as sacred music. There is a sanctified music that helps us live a set apart life for God. Sanctified music helps develop a heart for God. Sanctified music helps heighten our awareness of the holiness of God. Most born-again believers realize that we cannot build a spiritual life with carnal tools. Worldly music cannot develop a heart for God.
