Residential Programs & Services (RPS)
The BT L.E.A.D.E.R.S. program is designed to meet the needs of aspiring student leaders in Berkshire Towers. Through interactive sessions and group work, participants will develop skills and abilities that will help them for leadership positions within Residential Programs & Services (RPS). The facilitator(s) will help the participants understand what leadership is and develop skills to be a student leader. Additionally, participants will be charged with creating and implementing a community change project that is to be completed during the 5 weeks of the series. Requirements: Application Due By: September 28, 2012 Notification/Acceptance into the Program: October 5, 2012 Attend all 5 Weekly Sessions that are an hour and a half on ______ at 8pm. Program starts week of October 15th and Ends week of November 12th. After each session each participant will submit an online journal entry of 500 words reflecting on what they learned in the session and how they can apply it in the future. Design and Implement and then Present a Community Change Group Project. Goals & Objectives: Challenge your perceptions of leadership and discuss what it means to be a leader. Help you understand the responsibilities of being a resident student leader. Help you to actively challenge yourself to be a good leader. Learn the value of and prepare you to take on a leadership role within Berkshire Towers and at MCLA. Exercise leadership skills to complete a community change project for the campus community. There are many, many reasons why you should get involved with the BT L.E.A.D.E.R.S. Program: Personal Development - College is a time to grow, try new things, and learn more about yourself! This workshop will be geared towards helping you challenge yourself and develop a greater sense of leadership. Professional Development - Many employers are looking for college graduates who have leadership experience. The BT L.E.A.D.E.R.S. Program will not only look great on your resume, but you'll have additional experience and knowledge to convey through your future endeavors. Collaborative You will be doing these sessions together with everyone else who is accepted into the BT L.E.A.D.E.R.S. and have the ability to work together to complete requirements
