St. Johns Bar Pilot Association Endorses Aaron Bean for Florida Senate
Jacksonville, Fla. Republican Aaron Bean, a small business owner and former Florida State Representative, today announced that the St. Johns Bar Pilot Association has endorsed him in his bid for the newly-drawn Florida Senate District 4 seat. St. Johns Bar Pilots Association is proud to endorse Aaron Bean for the Florida Senate, said Captain James Winegeart, president of the St. Johns Bar Pilot Association. For more than 180 years, our harbor pilots have been serving the marine transportation interests of the Port of Jacksonville, and Aaron understands just how vital our service is to the safe passage of the many cruise and cargo ships that call on our port each day. I thank the JaxPilots for their support, said Bean. Their service to our local waterways is crucial to the safety of our maritime environment and economic efficiency of the Port of Jacksonville. And, if elected, I will protect the waters of our local treasure that benefit many of Floridas integral economic sectors, including citrus, commerce and tourism. During his tenure in the Florida House, Bean received numerous awards and recognitions for his effective, conservative leadership and additionally was trusted by thenHouse Speaker Marco Rubio to serve as the chairman of the House Health Care Council, which handled all health care policy in addition to the appropriations of about one-third of the state budget. Prior to being elected to the Florida House, Bean served as a Commissioner and Mayor of Fernandina Beach. Beans extensive record of public service includes serving on the First Coast YMCA Board of Directors, Big Brothers & Big Sisters and the United Way. Bean received his Bachelor of Science in Finance from Jacksonville University, and was the city president of Compass Bank for 10 years (1998-2008). Bean and his wife, Abby, reside in Fernandina Beach, Fla., with their three sons, where they attend Memorial United Methodist Church.
