Rob Bradley Claims Victory in Senate District 7 Race

Orange Park, Fla. Republican Rob Bradley tonight claimed victory in his race for the newlydrawn Florida Senate District 7 seat, which includes Alachua, Bradford and Clay Counties. Across the district, I have been hearing from folks who want leaders who will represent their families and fight for a future with a strong economy, a world-class education system and a more responsive government that works for the people, said Bradley. Tonight, I am thankful for all of the voters who came out in support of our common goal, and I am excited to have the opportunity to be your voice in Tallahassee. I am ready to roll up my sleeves and focus on promoting a vibrant and growing economy. My congratulations go to Senator Bradley tonight on his win in Senate District 7, said Senate President-designate Don Gaetz. We need Republicans with fresh ideas in Tallahassee, and I am excited to see what he has in store for his district and our great state. His commitment to creating jobs and bettering our education system will be key in the Florida Senate, and I look forward to working with him to achieve these goals for his district and all of Florida. Bradley is a former criminal prosecutor who is now the managing partner of the Orange Park law firm of Kopelousos and Bradley, P.A. He also currently serves on the board of directors for Northeast Florida Community Hospice, the board of directors for Jacksonville Area Legal Aid and received a gubernatorial appointment to the board of trustees of St. Johns River State College. In 2007, Bradley was appointed by the Governor to the Clay County Board of County Commissioners, where he spearheaded the largest property tax reduction in Clay County history and fought for more honest, accountable government by drafting the Countys first Ethics Code. Shortly thereafter, Bradley ran for and won the first-ever Clay County Commission Chairman position in 2008 with a record number of votes. Bradleys extensive record of public service includes serving as chairman of the board of management of YMCA Barco-Newton, president of the Clay County Bar Association and a member of the Clay County Charter Review Commission. Bradley received his Juris Doctor and his Bachelor of Science in Telecommunication from the University of Florida (UF). While attending UF, Bradley met his wife of 17 years, Jennifer. They currently reside in Fleming Island, Fla., with their three children, where they attend the Orange Park United Methodist Church.
