Join us for a free seminar designed to build awareness and help educate
parents and families about adolescent substance use. Whether a child has a problem or not, all parents can benefit from learning about addiction and understanding what their children are exposed to on a daily basis because no matter what school your children attend or how good your neighborhood is, drugs and alcohol are readily available. Topics will include: Talking to your teen about drug & alcohol use Identifying warning signs Where to turn for help when you need it Question & answer session with guest speakers will follow the presentation. John Kelly, Ph.D., nationally recognized expert in the field of addiction treatment and research
Dr. John F. Kelly is an Associate Professor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, Associate Director of the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH)-Harvard Center for Addiction Medicine, and Program Director of the MGH Addiction Recovery Management Service (ARMS). He serves as a consultant to the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy, the US Department of Education, and to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) as a scientific reviewer. He is a licensed clinical psychologist actively working with individuals and families with alcohol and other drug use disorders.
