Lisa Harris Jones graduated from the University of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, B.A. (Class of 1990) and American University, Washington College of Law, Washington, D.C., J.D. (Class of 1993). In 2000, she founded her own law firm, which would become Harris Jones & Malone, LLC., a firm specializing in lobbying and government relations, along with several other areas of practice. HJM is among the top earning lobbying firms in the state and the first and only law firm, specializing in government relations, owned by an African American woman. Prior to starting her own firm, Lisa was an associate attorney with the law firms of Shapiro and Olander and Gordon, Feinblatt, Rothman, Hoffberger & Hollander, LLC. Lisa is active in several professional organizations including the National Bar Association, the Monumental Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Womens Bar Association of the District of Columbia, the Womens Leadership Forum of the Democratic National Committee, and the Maryland Government Relations Association. In addition to her professional career, Lisa is a highly recognized community leader and serves on the boards of many public and community organizations, including the Journey Home Benefit Committee, the Baltimore City Wage Commission, the City of Baltimore MBE/WBE Certification Appeals Board, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Maryland Affiliate, the Druid Heights Community Development Corporation, Inc., the Center for Fathers, Families and Workforce Development, and many more.
