Technology Simplifies Getting Military Identification Cards

The process to get a family members I.D. card is now easier! The Sponsor can now log into the RAPIDS site and access their family member's information, which the military sponsor can update, if needed. For an ID card, the sponsor must complete and electronically sign the DD Form 1172-2. The family member can take a printed version of the 1172-2 to the nearest Defense Manpower Data Center office, easily located by using the RAPID Site Locator, to get an ID. The Soldier does not need to accompany the family member to the site to pick up the card.
