Concept :
Global Kokan is planned for four days from 24th February 2011 to 27th February 2011 at Bandra-Kurla Complex- Mumbai. The Pratishthan has planned to send invites to eminent people from Kokan and belonging to the literary, cine world, sports, industry, social and political field and who have achieved international recognition. It is desired to have a joint consensus with these dignitaries on the development of Kokan. More than 300 folk artist hailing from the deep villages of all four districts of Kokan will be performing the folk arts of their regions and presenting the rich cultural heritage of the region.
It is proposed to conduct a Cultural Night. A mega Exhibition spread over four lakh square feet, (4,00000 sq.ft) in compartmentalized Air conditioned pavalions is the highlight of the event. The exhibition intends giving opportunity to small businessmen from various fields like tourism, investment, Ayurved, Fruit processing, Agriculture, Plant Nurseries, various other industries and so also Self Help Groups of Women to participate free of charge through more than 500 stalls is decided to be held at the venue. A Food Festival making available the delicacies of Kokan is going to be organized at the venue. To make the world know about tourism in Kokan, it is decided to have separate Kokan Travel Mart. Tour operators from all over the world, and all the fans of Kokan are expected to remain present at this event. The exhibition itself is going to be one of its kind.
Objectives :
The Mission for Exhibition KOKAN BHUMI PRATISHTHAN a voluntary organization has proven track record in organizing events and conferences for development of KOKAN region and with support from all the volunteers, government corporations and ministry of Maharashtra we have taken the initiative towards showcasing Kokan as the travel destination for the future. With definite aims and objectives awareness will be created by properly organizing the events with help of local as well as government support and sponsors from the industry for the exhibition. A new dimension will be created with the vantage points which is the Mother Nature with its scenic waterfalls, free flowing rivers, tranquil creaks and backwaters, panoramic beaches, mystic jungle trails, royal forts, ancient temples beautiful people and inherited culture the land is true paradise for the traveler. Total region segregated in separate small sections displayed in well elaborated stalls of different sizes like for example Javhar, Bordi, Dahanu in Thane district Alibag, Murud, Harihareshwar in Raigad district Dapoli, Guhagar, Marleshwar, Ganpatipule in Ratnagiri district and Malvan, Tarkarli, Vengula, Amboli in Sindhudurg district. By showcasing the concepts like agro and village tourism Kokan will be projected in different manner as the ideal destination for eco tourism in the world.
The rich and ancient culture of kokan region will get proper platform whereby it can reach the world audience on a larger aspect. Through proper displays, exhibits the assets and vantage points of the region will showcased to the tourist around the world by which there will be improvement in the infrastructural standards of the local farmers, native people for getting appropriate employment through tourism. The event it will provide proper market exposure to the hotels, resorts in the region where by the business will grow for the service providers. Specially designed business tours will be conducted during the show so that the tour operators and tour conductors will be able to get the actual feel of the region and the facilities at the specific destination. Detailed directory with proper information of each sector will be provided also detailed flyers and well informed broachers of each region in local as well as English language will be on displayed for the visitors. By organizing and conducting this event every year it is possible to provide exposure which will change the view point of the tourism sector towards Kokan the true paradise on earth. The exhibition aims to change focus of the local people which will benefit in sustainable development of the entire Kokan region.
Ideology :
The Vision Behind Exhibition Incredible India India with its indigenous culture religious history diverse climate has been famous within the travelers from ancient time till date. At this juncture more than millions of foreign traveler visits India and more than 5 million local travelers are found traveling to states like Kerla, Himachal pardesh, Rajasthan and Goa. Most of the foreign tourist coming to India utilize Mumbai as their starting destination due to its well connectivity to the whole India and rest of the world but only visit the ancient caves of Ajantha and Ellora, travel to other parts of Maharashtra but has been neglecting kokan region. The states like Kerala, Himachal pardesh, Rajasthan & Goa have been focusing on the tourism industry. These States are successful in attracting the tourists to the states by proper resource management and planning which has resulted in the growth of tourism industry and economical growth of the regions. The state like Kerala by intellectually advertising about wildlife sanctuaries, backwaters beaches and culture to the world is able to attract major chunk of the tourist to the state. In fact it is very famous in the world as Gods Own Country. The end resulted in improvement of overall economy of the state.
It is very important concern to improve upon tourism in Kokan by showcasing vantage points it is possible to change the view point of the tourism industry towards the region. One can address the tourism industry about Kokan through making films, advertises, broachers, by participating in travel shows but more than that it is very important to conduct a show for kokan and which is the Global Kokan Festival. Kokan with its vantage points viz inherited culture, indigenous life style, natural biodiversity, royal fortress, religious places, rivers and back waters, sea and beaches it is possible with proper planning and advertising to create a model for tourism activity. Global Kokan Festival the only idea which can showcase kokan as the destination for the future.
The Way Forward:

Brief About Exhibition The proposed travel mart will be a total new concept conceived with a broader perspective to project and display the beautiful region of kokan. Total perspective about the region will be provided from the highlands of majestic western ghats of Sahyadri till the vast Arabian sea on the other side which stretch between 100 km along east west direction and 750 km along its north south direction. A new dimension will be created with the vantage points which is the Mother Nature with its scenic waterfalls, free flowing rivers, tranquil creaks, panoramic beaches, mystic jungle trails, royal forts, ancient temples beautiful people and inherited culture as the land is true paradise for the traveler. Total region segregated in separate small regions displayed in well elaborated stalls of different sizes like for example Javhar, Bordi, Dahanu in Thane district Alibag, Murud, Harihareshwar in Raigad district Dapoli, Guhagar, Marleshwar, Ganpatipule in Ratnagiri district and Malvan, Tarkarli, Vengula, Amboli in Sindhudurg district. There will be display of cultural activities by staging baithak nritya, jakhadi, naman, shankasur, dashavtar the folkdance performances from the region. A proper platform will be provided for the visitor to interact with the participants
through well organized display kiosks where the visitor can get fully aware with the hotels, restaurants, resorts and other required facilties from the region. Detailed directory with proper information of each sector will be provided also detailed flyers and well informed brouchers of each region in local as well as English language will be on displayed for the visitors. Short films and documentaries in advance will be prepared by involving eminent film makers and will be featured during the show. Interactive workshops and conferences will be organized during the show at regular basis providing platform for debate over important concerns addressing issues like improvement of the region with the context of tourism, infrastructure, environment conservation etc. Properly showcasing the trends in tourism like health tourism, agro tourism, adventure tourism, village tourism by preparing anchor stalls for the same and organizing open seminars which will expose the visitors the different trends in tourism in kokan. More than that there will be photo exhibition ,food stalls, small scale models of few sites, important interactive games, entertainment, products etc. which will give complete experience to the visitor.
Itinerary:
Display & Exhibits Highlands to Coastlands: kiosks displaying entire kokan region divided district wise projecting 10 different circuits from the soaring peaks of sahyadri till the panoramic expanse of Arabic sea for example from Raigad Fort to Harihareshwar in Raigad District and likewise. Agro and Village Tourism: separate display kiosk for these two immerging concepts in tourism showcasing agro-village tourism in detail. Adventure Tourism: This section will display the adventure sports like paraselling, rappelling, whitewater rafting, trekking, climbing, jungle safaris etc. Backwaters and Beach Tourism: In this section focus will be on back water and beach tourism facilities from each district with displays about dolphin safari water sports, Fishing, Snorkeling, etc. Hotel and Resorts: Different hotels and resorts will be showcased in this section. District wise Section: There will be 4 nos. of section which will project the districts potential destinations, available facilities in detail. Facilities and services: In this section focus will be on service providers like Kokan Railway, State Transport., and M.T.D.C. etc.
Tour Operators and Services Providers: This section will mainly focus on travel companies, tour operators. Informatics Display and Kiosks: This section will mainly focus on information of each district in details with participants from each district provided with a kiosk of particular size where each one can display their products and contents in detail. Products: This section will mainly focus on local agriculture, processed food, and regional food, ready to eat handmade food, handicraft items of the entire kokan region. Besides that there will be interactive and informatics kiosks, food stalls, artisans kiosk and entertainment kiosks showcasing the indigenous culture as well as vibrant lifestyle of the kokan region.
Programs:
Events and Activities Photo Exhibition: Gallery of photographs projecting beauty of the scenic destinations in kokan. Film Show: Audiovisual presentation of the short films, documentaries prepared especially for the festival projected at regular intervals during the expo. Miniature Models: Small scale miniature models of the famous destination either historic cultural importance prepared and displayed with audiovisual interactive show conducted for the same. Cultural Showcase: The cultural heritage of kokan will be on display with its folk arts like Dashavtar, Naman Jakdi Tarpa nritya, Mangalgauri, Bhajan etc. This program conducted live by providing platform to the native performing groups staged during the show. Food Festival: The culinary delights of kokan are mouth watering. The indigenous food and test are very famous in the world. These food prepared by native woman group for the visitors delight will provide testy experience about the rich food culture of kokan region. Specially Operated Tour: specially designed tours for each districts which will be conducted for the delegates giving them the actual insights of the beauty of kokan.
Seminars and workshops: A special auditorium will be prepared with the state of art sound system for about 500 capacities where on daily basis workshops and seminars will be conducted about the development of kokan related to subjects like tourism, environment, culture and a wider platform will be provided for interaction during the show. Conference and Media lounge: A special conference hall with a media lounge with state of art facilities for the visitors, participants, media persons to interact and conduct small shows during the expo. Entertainment program: With the help of renowned kokani musicians, singers, performing artists working in film and television industry a grand orchestra specially prepared for the event will be conducted every evening in the presence of Celebrities and eminent guests.
Publicity:
Media and Exposure There will be channel Partner who will promote this Event Globally. All the Conferences, Cultural Programmes, Celebrity Task will be telecasted by our channel partner & other channels. There will be Radio Partner who will Flash this Event and will also payout some small clipping from this Event. They will also demonstrate the Global Kokan Festival and its sponsors. We will also be publishing this Event through leading News Papers. Giving in advertisement in all News Paper to cover this Festival. All leading Marathi and English News Papers will be publishing articles of VIPs & Celebrities article regarding this GKF and will run in to series. We will be putting around 50 Hoardings (Big size) (40 x 20) or (20 x 10) all over Mumbai where the sponsors logo will be flashed. We are sending around 1crore E-mails all over the world to Top Most Business Men, Industrialists, Entrepreneurs, Tour operators, Embassys etc.Where in sponsors logo will be published.
We will be putting around 1000 Hoardings size 10 x 8 in Kokan & Mumbai. These hoarding will be having best wishes message from Global Kokan Festival. Where in only Title sponsor, Main sponsor, co-sponsor, logo will be published. Since this is a Mega Event & first of its kind of events so Electronic Media will telecast this Event on a larger Scale globally and sponsors logo will flash everywhere globally. During this Event whenever we are conducting many seminars, Conferences, Dinner party, Beach Festival, Car Rally, Get together sponsors logo will be printed on the Back Drop of the stage. Guhagar Beach Festival 24th ,25th ,26th December 2010 This Event will be held in Guhagar for 3 Days. Where in we will be having cultural Programmes, Folk Dances and many more. The winner of the Folk Artist Competition will be performing in Mumbai during forth coming Global Kokan Festival. We are expecting around 30,000 Tourists from all over the world and one Lac local residents for this Festival.

Murud Beach Festival 24th To 31st December 2010 This Event Will be held in Murud Janjira between 24th to31st December 2010 where in we will be conducting Cultural Festival like Koli Mahotsav, Bhandari Mahotsav, Folk Dances and other entertaining programs. This is the Indias 1st Village Tourist Festival, one of its kinds. We are also conducting Mega Musical Night Little Champs during this festival. We are expecting around 70-80 thousands Tourist from all over the world and around One Lac local residents for this Festival. This event will be covered by entire electronic print media.
The first Agro & Village Tourism Festival 24th To 31st December 2010 -
During this beach festival we are organizing Rural Tourism Festival. Where people can stay in villages with farmers.
