Cummelia Presents The Cummers Connection to the La Florida Exhibition


Jacksonville, Fla. Cummelia, an affinity group of the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens is hosting a special presentation to meet The Cummers new Curator, Preston Thayer, PhD. The event is Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 5:30 p.m. at the Amelia Island Museum of History, located at 223 South 3rd Street, Amelia Island, Florida. Thayer will share a presentation, highlighting The Cummers upcoming La Florida exhibition. Celebrating 500 years of Florida art, La Florida will showcase the beautiful state of Florida through the centuries. The Cummers new curator will also lead a discussion on how a wide variety of artists have responded to the landscape and environmental concerns. Admission is free for members and $15 for non-members. Cocktails and hors doeuvres will be served. Cummelia is an affinity group for Nassau County residents devoted to encouraging interest in and support for the art and cultural significance of the Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens.
