/School: TX VA Position Summary:


The Special Education Compliance Coordinator is responsible for monitoring policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance with special education mandates. Qualifications: Education/Certification

Must have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year College or University, preferably in the area of Special Education. Valid Texas teaching certificate in the area of Special Education. 3+ years of experience as a Special Education teacher Must have a passion for students, especially students with disabilities. Advanced knowledge of and compliance with the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process. Ability to complete required documentation as determined by the Response to Intervention (RTI) program and support the Student Success Team (SST). Ability to nnafatflin documentation of special education services. Advanced proficiency in implementing multiple and diverse programs including computer
based instruction, Excel, Word, Acrobat, and internet based document resources and storage.

Experience

Required Knowledge. Skills, and Abilities CKSAs)

Ability to communicate effectively with and receive guidance from Special Education Director. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of students with disabilities, their parents, the community, peers, administrative staff, Campus Directors, Superintendents, and corporate staff. Must have the ability to effectively interpret policy, procedures, and student data such as diagnostic test results, state assessments scoring, transcripts, and grade point average. Must have the ability to transition with district, campus, and/or department changes. Must have ability to communicate effectively with and receive guidance from supervisors Must have ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Must have ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships. Must have ability to travel as necessary. 5+ years of experience maintaining and supporting Special Education Services for school
aged children.

Preferred KSAs

5+ years of experience maintaining and supporting Charter or Public School Programs for children with special needs.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Recommend sound policies to improve program. Implement ResponsiveEd's Special Education school board policies, procedures, and operational
guidelines.

Compile and maintain all reports, records, and other documents required by law and/or the Director of Special Education. Participate in professional development activities, staff and in-service trainings to improve skills
related to job assignment

Maintain confidentiality at all times. Perform special projects, during and after normal business hours, and other duties as assigned. May travel as necessary. Responsible for monitoring of policies, procedures, and guidelines for school staff to insure
compliance with special education mandates.

When appropriate, serves as administrator at ARD meetings. Insures that all vendors and school employees are trained in using the proper ARD/IEP forms,
understand legal requirements of the position, and are "highly qualified" in the field in which they are providing services.

Responsible for the identification of the accommodations needed for special education students to
participate in state standardizing testing

Responsible for all state and federal reports related to special education and insures their timely
submission as legally mandated.

Review SPED cumulative folders and virtual SPED cumulative folders. Provide training to new SPED teachers. Coordinate Child Find with Gen Ed. Regularly report to SPED manager. Attend all SPED team meetings and faculty meetings.
