Pre-production To start we discussed our plans and time period.

We watched the original video and dissected it into different short sections. In pairs we then short boarded each small segment. This was then put together to make a complete story board. This was a helpful method of storyboarding as it meant that no time was wasted. It was meant that nothing was over looked in pre-production. We then assigned ourselves certain roles. As we worked as a whole class, we also had to assign different roles to each other. These included camera operator, sound, lighting, location, costume, actors, makeup, choreography and editing. I chose to be responsible for the music. This meant I had to download the song and sync it onto my ipod. Once this was completed I had to find a decent docking station that was capable of filling the set. I also had to find an extension lead so the speaker could go anyway. Thus not jeopardizing the set designers job. Production Production was very time consuming. It tested our team working skills as everyone had to play their own part in order for it to run smoothly. The makeup was the most time consuming part of the production stage. The dancers also had to learn the dance moves which proved to be very challenging to recreate. The room had been booked for a certain amount of time so time was essential. I didnt encounter an problems in my responsibility of sound. The speakers were free all day and the extension leads were brought from home so there were no time constraints in pace. Unfortunately, due to the lack of time and slow work, not all the shots were filmed. We could not re film any more as the location was no longer free. This meant that the editors had no choice but to leave gaps in the final cut. Meaning that there is a significant lack in quality. the black screen in between some shots break the continuity of the film, and it looks unfinished. To improve, we would have to book the location for a longer period of time. This would have given us more time to film everything. We should have booked the loaction twice in order to re film any problems with the original take. The dance should have been learnt as part of the preproduction and the makeup should have been done before hand, in order to waste no time on the filming day. Post production

Serif MoviePlus was used to edit the final cut. The editors were familiar with this software and as the production took so long they did not have time to learn to use a more complex editing program.
